I really am, I am generally a peaceful conflict-avoiding person and sometimes it's just easier to forgive and forget opposed to beginning a heated problem. The person has a very long fuse and rarely yells or gets angry.

So that would make it about 781 days until the Winter Olympics. I really don't like any Summer Olympic events, so I usually watch every 4 years when Hockey comes back around. I also enjoy the Snowboarding and Curling for some reason.

I understood it fine, but it's such a vague point. For one game this season Sam Gagner was the best player in the NHL, and the same can be said for dozens of other players every year that get hot streaks. Guys are gonna get hot, and some (Gagner) are just gonna get flat out lucky, but having a dozen or two great games of an 82 game season doesn't hack it, and it doesn't determine the overall class of a player's skill. It's for that reason that I don't put Franzen in the ranks of the guys mentioned above, if he can show more consistency and those 55-60 games where he sleeps can turn into production then maybe we'll see the value in the contract the Wings gave him and his real potential can be shown. I assumed he was the founder and creator of the site.

We can scratch Vokoun off the list of potential backups. Josh Harding? Probably the top choice on my list at the moment.

I think for the first time ever I kind of agree with you here. Sure what Weber did was a dick move, but it didn't injure Zett and if it came down to that incident determining if people would want Weber here or not, i'm kind of surprised how many are saying they would pass because of it. Fact is, Weber is still a big, physical, scoring defensemen. What Lemieux did to Draper legitimately condemns him from this team, what Weber did to Zett doesn't in my opinion. I'd still take him in a heartbeat, the guy is among the best D guys in the league and offers just about everything you'd want out of a big defensemen. I still don't think he leaves Nashville though. What Bert did was against Colorado, not Detroit. I'm sure if he did what he did to a Wings player he would not be playing on this team.

Weber will be a Predator next season. I don't see him leaving Nashville, and i'm pretty confident they will match any offer to keep him there, especially if they let Suter walk. I could be wrong but I bet he's a long time fixture for the Preds.

Similar to the discussions about Hemsky before he got resigned, Markov is one of those guys i'd take in a second regardless of recent injury concern. When he's healthy he is a high scoring defensive threat, and a good leader. If the price is right, i'd take Markov on this team.

I'd consider the fan base also, going from cup champions to out in the first round. There's been issues with fans in Boston at Red Sox games in recent history, and it's known to be a city where sports fans are very Philly-like. Maybe he's received threats and is having issues with the fans, just because it isn't reported doesn't mean it's not happening. Considering the little known facts of the article, it could be a contributing factor if it isn't a step towards retirement or conflicts in his political standing and everything that happened.

I'm beginning to. Weber will not be a Red Wing, chances are he won't leave Nashville for a long time. We gotta consider scratching Weber as a possibility this offseason, I really really don't see it happening. Aside from Doan having spaz face like Olli Jokinen on occasion, he would be a interesting add for a couple seasons. Definitely not one of my top choices though.

Any thought of them signing a free agent and immediately naming them Captain is ridiculous, and insulting to the guys like Zett who have been with this team for a long time. Instances like this occur when a team is bottom level, rebuilding, and sign a player that is brought in for a leadership role. I remember when the Thrashers signed Bobby Holik and he was given an A shortly after, they were a team looking for direction and didn't have much of any veteran leadership. We have plenty, so much that there's easily 5 or 6 guys that can wear the A so this scenario wouldn't apply to this team.

Mostly the reason why I miss the ESPN hockey days, these two were the best combo hands down. I still hear blurbs of Gary here and there watching baseball highlights.

I'm kind of annoyed because I just got a Zett jersey a few months ago with an "A" on it and I think you are absolutely right here. He's probably gonna be our next captain and my 4 month old jersey is already obsolete like my computer was a week after I got it.
