I think Montreal is a potential career ending timebomb for any coach that decides to go there, so many problems going on it's borderline embarassing for the organization. At the risk of getting fired in the midst of the fiasco i'm not sure i'd take the job either.

I think the Blues have the best goalie tandem in the NHL hands down. With that said, LA did just knock off the Canucks and you also need to consider their deadline addition of Jeff Carter and what seed they would have taken if he played for them all season. For that reason I give LA a little more respect as the 8th seed because they did make an extremely significant addition late in the season. In a series like this, there's going to be a ton of low scoring goalie battles. Quick, Elliot, and Halak (even though he's banged up) are ALL capable of stealing a game and a series, so i'm going to be watching this one closely. Regardless it's cool to see both teams in the playoffs and wish the best, it's going to be one hell of a series.

Wasn't directed at you or this thread actually, it's more the 30+ threads about Suter, Parise, and adding players this offseason. It seems like half of the General Discussion is filled with them. It was more sarcasm then anything. I normally am not the type who goes out of their way to be rude, as that wasn't my intention.

Semin isn't captain, and plays around Ovechkin, Backstrom, Green. Kovalchuk was the captain of the Thrashers, and all the responsibility fell into his lap because he had next to no talent around him. These are two completely different scenarios, Semin doesn't carry a heavy workload like Kovie was expected to in ATL. Kovalchuk actually gives a damn about playing well for his team also, Semin floats around collecting that massive overpay of a contract. Complete disaster of a signing if we bring Semin here, and anyone can feel free to quote me on that if we do wind up taking him. At the end of the season no one will be happy with the signing but at least it will take some pressure off of Franzen for being lazy and unproductive.

What a stunning playoff this has been so far, some major favorites to win the cup are gone in the first round. The Rangers and Hawks go, this is officially the strangest playoff season i've ever witnessed in 22 years of watching hockey.

Good poll and a big question for the Nucks. I think Luongo is gone this offseason, New Jersey or Tampa are prime locations for him. Once the devils lose Parise to us they can afford him.

I seem to remember him leaving the Habs on bad terms where he pretty much quit playing for the team after getting blown out and embarrassed when he wasn't pulled. What team did that to him again.. that put 11 goals past him.. oh yeah it was the Wings. I don't know how he feels about the habs since that game and incident happened.

Just say NO to Alex Semin. I'm beginning to wonder how many Caps games a lot of people around here actually watch to want this guy so much. This season, 77 GP 21G 33A 54PTS. Two games this season he was a healthy scratch because of his lack of production and drive. His locker room attitude is poor, and his lack of reliability as a proven scorer has been damaging to the Capitals this season and last. There is no appeal, he's like Franzen's lazier brother. Same games played this season, Franzen scored 2 more points, was +14 better and had about 30 more shots on goal and 30 more hits. Signing him would be a mistake and the price to bring him in is insane.

I get the reason for the post, but it's all water under the bridge now. There's always would of could of should of issues lingering after being eliminated but it isn't going to change the result. It is odd that there wasn't really any attempt from the refs to track down the puck before resuming play, but this isn't a suspendable offense imo, just a bit of dumbassery on behalf of Legwand.
