I've lived in Atlanta for about 11 years now, and really in my experience it's just a Football/Baseball town. No one cares about hockey and i'm not overexaggerating. I have worked at jobs with a ton of human interaction, and I can count how many hockey fans I have met here on one hand. There was just very little following, and it was very surprising. Half the people I work with didn't even know we had a hockey team until they were gone, so aside from poor ownership, I also have to contribute a large portion of it to lack of interest.

Its really going to depend on how they handle their goaltending situation, do they start Halak in the playoffs who has proven to be very lethal in that enviornment, or do they stick with Elliot who in 4 career playoff games has a 4.14 GAA and .853 SV%? Elliot has three straight shutouts, which pretty much means they will take him into the playoffs, but one goalie collapse can drag a whole team down in the playoffs. Time will tell but hopefully something thwarts the blues and they see a very early elimination.

I don't think it's going to matter once the playoffs start, it's a completely different monster. Whatever team wants it the most is going to take it, regardless of who we face in the first round both teams will be playing to win and it's anyone's game. We are fans of a sport where the lower seed knocking out the higher seed isn't all that uncommon, the playoffs are unpredictable so i'm just leaving it in the hands of the hockey gods and continue to cheer on my boys in the meantime.
