i'm kind of surprised that there's so little activity in the Fantasy Sports forum, I personally enjoy it a lot and really want to get some discussions going on. I want to make this thread an open ended one for all fantasy sports, not just hockey. I'm interested to hear in how people are handing long-term injuries this season. I'm sitting on Andrei Markov right now, it is a dynasty league and we bring the same team into next season, but i'm starting to wonder if I should free up that IR spot and just waive him. I was in the same situation with Hemsky but luckily he's been healthy and staying healthy, just not producing. Also people who own Crosby, how are you dealing with that headache, do you continue to sit on him or are you trying to sell lower on him and get out of the situation? I'm also sitting on Peyton Manning in one dynasty football league and i'm struggling with trying to trade him for much less than he was worth a couple of seasons ago, or do I hang onto him and risk that he may not play again and get no value in return at all? I also have Matt Ryan and Eli at QB so it's not a position I am in trouble in if I do deal him out. I have DeMarco Murray at RB where I am shallow, considering the season he had I don't know if I should attempt to sell him high for a more reputable RB or if I should keep him and see what he does next year. Is Murray real deal or was it a lucky second half? My other RBs are Foster and Green-Ellis. Big story recently was Josh Hamilton went back to drinking, he's on one of my dynasty teams and it puts me in a tough situation. He's obviously one of the best players in the game, but his value has probably went down after this offseason. Whether or not it's going to be damaging to his play is to be forseen, but how does the Hamilton situation get handled with his value and potential drop in production? Is Carl Crawford going to bounce back after his miserable season? Is Choo going to return to his old form after a disappointing year of injury and underwhelming production? Is Broxton still considered a top closer or did this past year's disaster of a season kill his value? Chauncey Billups just received a season-ending injury, this is the first season of Fantasy Basketball I am trying and oddly enough after drafting Love, Ellis, Deron, and Gasol i'm sitting on top with a 48-18-6 record but losing Billups could be a potential blow to my team. It's only an 8 team league so there are definitely some options on waivers, but what guys are going to maintain? Anthony Morrow has been killing it at the 3 point line, Spencer Hawes blew up at the start of the season but has been suffering through injury, and Hedo Turkoglu just hit waivers. These are a few guys that seem like decent options but what darkhorse player is going to be able to maintain through out the season and which ones are one week wonders and will return to their sub-par ways?

2/28 GDT : Red Wings 5 at Blue Jackets 2

Good luck boys, Joey Mac ends our small losing skid tonight and we take it 5-2. Go Red Wings! -
What's with the lack of faith? I'd expect Flyers fans to give up on their team but I wouldn't expect to see it here. The playoffs are an entirely different monster, and already saying this year is over and you expect us to be out in the 2nd or 3rd round is pretty miserable for someone who claims to be a fan of this team. Datsyuk is a big part of this team, but he isn't the entire team, and missing three weeks isn't grounds to give up hope on the entire team's success for the rest of the season, come on now.

I didn't really think about it like that so +1. If that's the case and it was out of respect for Mike putting him in a better situation then it's much more understandable. I also think in the long run it helps maintain a good relationship with Yzerman and the Lightning. With that said, I do hope to see Commie get to play in Tampa much more than he was able to here.

Probably about the same way he feels about Avery. I think Nash has devoted himself enough to the Columbus organization to be in a position to want out. It's a lot like Kovalchuk, put a ton of time into the Thrashers who tried to improve when they added Holik and Hossa, made the playoffs and got swept out in the first round by the Rangers. He stuck with it, made the push with the team, and it inevitably collapsed. There was no shame in Kovy moving on and I feel the same way about Nash. This was their year to improve drastically and make that playoff push, the effort failed and I think he doesn't want to be in another rebuilding situation as he's paid his dues as a leader of the team.

So we are down Lidstrom, Quincey, and Ericsson and Kenny decides it's time to unload Commodore for a pick as a deadline move. I really don't understand why this deal was made today instead of the offseason.
-
Another year of hopes and expectations fizzled away. Why wouldn't we just wait til the offseason to make that Commodore deal and keep him for insurance through the playoffs? It kind of seems unnecessary to get that 7th pick today opposed to the end of the year.
-
I agree this was a very dull deadline and I also agree that it's probably Chicago's fault. NONE of the bigger names that have been floating around moved today.
-
I kinda miss the days with no cap and monster trades. What a boring deadline.

Rarely, not much of a sweet tooth. The person below me thinks the devils paid WAY too much for Zidlicky.

That's entirely too much Canucks footage to watch to find what the OP is talking about, but I will say this, problems involving bad icing calls can be reduced if no-touch icing was in effect. I'm just sayin...

I have a tiring and aggrivating 1.5 mile drive to work. The person below me has worked in food service.

This. I've been overly anxious to see Smith play more games in the NHL.

This is about what I was going to post, and to add to it, especially being Chara is the captain. Clean, Dirty, Vicious, it doesn't matter I think Chara did the right thing here. You watch your teammate get crushed like that you act now and think later.

Nothing wrong with a little bit of class. I would expect that Pav has a high level of respect among his competition.

It's a good day to not be an Oilers fan.

2012 NHL Trade Deadline Thread - February 27th, 3:00 PM ET

See that's the problem, lou wasn't thinking. I can't think of a logical reason why they would give out that much for Zidlicky, considering the other defensemen out there they could have gotten for that price. -

On what planet is Hemsky worth 5 mil a season? I like the guy but I wasn't expecting him to make a penny over 3 mil. -
Per TSN Edmonton extends an offer to Ales Hemsky for 2 years 10 million. If that's the asking price I doubt anyone is taking him by the deadline. I was assuming he would be at about half of that price, but for 5 mil a season, no thank you.
-
Ott for sure, just because he's a bit younger. I'd take the pair if the price was right.
-
Yes I do, maybe girls like it, who knows. Kind of gimmicky if you ask me. The person below me reads books for fun.

Really hadn't started watching it until the first two seasons showed up on Netflix, but man it's an awesome show. I turned into a fan quick and got caught up on the entire series in about three weeks. I knew there was another season on the way but I didn't realize it was the final season, that's kind of disappointing. The show about pushes the limits on what can be aired on national television, if I didn't know I would have assumed it was HBO or Showtime programming because the quality of it is just that good. Very cool and highly recommended.

Man I love the pic, that's pretty awesome.

I learned so early in life that I barely remember it. The person below me likes country music.

I've got a long list of games i'd like to see Bethesda do, haven't really considered Warhammer though. I played Kill Team and Space Marine recently and it's really the first two i've played of the series. I know there's a cult following so I may backtrack and try some earlier titles.
