Bernier because Tatar scored twice
-
They need some kind of inspiration, the shot totals are a good start but still only scored one and losing, yet again.
-
Tatar finally
-
I mean, if we are gonna lose, at least we are now getting some brawls in our games.
-
OP updated, I really think we get the W tonight in front of Mrazek. They seem to save their offense for games when he is in net. 5-2 Win, lets GO Wings!
-
Okay well, til next game. Nothing positive to say about this one.
-
This really is bad right now..
-
Yeah because that was entirely on Howard..
-
Absolute definition of being hung out to dry.. I feel bad for Jimmy on that one.
-
I predicted we'd score 5 this game, not shoot 5 times. Get it together Wings.
-
Page 4, not 2. I'm chugging a beer.
-
Thank you Howard..
-
Loo is a fancy gal, i'm good with a $10 5th of crush your skull in the morning tequila. The score could be worse after being outshot that bad. That's a plus.
-
Just got home from work, now it's a party! Did we really only have 2 shots?
-
31 beers in my system by the end of the game if we are losing after the first.

If it's legit as released, I like the Mantha Zetterberg Vanek line and think they put up 3 goals tonight. Expecting the offensive surge that Howard finally deserves and we take this game 5-2. New look first line lights it up, Sheahan nets his first of the year. Anticipating Wings_fanatic's obligatory "Mrazek should be playing, the coaching is so bad" post somewhere on page 2. LGW!

Howard starting tonight, Sproul back in. New lines in play also, Mantha - Zetterberg - Vanek on the top line. It looks like a solid shuffle outside of Glendening still on the 2nd and AA on the 4th, swap those two and I think they look ideal. http://www2.dailyfaceoff.com/teams/lines/23/detroit-red-wings

This is nearly identical to my entire train of thought. Howard is the better goaltender right now, I know it, and literally the entire team knows it. There is a confidence and urgency problem. They feel more comfortable that Howard will back them up in a game that they don't have to give their all in and still have a chance to win. With Mrazek in net, they feel like they need to put up more offense to counteract the goals he is going to allow because of his youth and inexperience. I think this sums up most of the debate here on the forums and the real-life situation. Most of us are more confident in Howard's play because he's been so much better. It's the same with the team, knowing Howard has been so much better at bailing them out in games than Petr has. As a result, there is more desperation play in front of Mrazek knowing he's very capable of giving up 3-4+ per game. So what's the winning formula? Allow more goals and put up more offense, or allow less goals and try to win the tight game? In this respect, I go with Mrazek, the lesser of the two that brings out the greater offense as a result of being unable to steal a game like Howard can. It equals more wins, which gets you to the playoffs, while resulting in a much worse goals against average and being in a situation with a goaltender that currently can't single handedly win regardless of the output. But for the fans, Mrazek, currently as he is, is incapable of holding a team on his back like the NHL elite goaltenders can.

I'm declaring the 15th game against the Kings "Beer Night". Bring a lot. I mean it. We'll be breaking into joyous song and dance by the 3rd regardless of the score.
-
I knew I should have played that new Forza expansion tonight instead.
-
Welcome to the madness, thanks for signing up and joining us in this misery.
-
Howard hasn't been great, defense hasn't been either. Little effort, no energy, and skating around like no one cares.
-
Great coverage Lashoff, thanks for being there and looking at him skate in and do nothing about it.

Errrhhhh Jurco

Are those the Golden Girls on Mike Smith's mask?
