40 games played and we're a game under 0.500 -
Lions had a chance to avoid this mess and play someone else (like in 2014) and couldn't get it done. Easy win for Seattle, as much as I hate them.

Pretty much this. We're a 4 or 5 game win streak away from being right back within the bubble - still sucks to see them struggle with so many of the same things as the last year or two (powerplay, quality shots on net, team defense)

Ozzie is a pretty bad analyst - yeah a 0.500 hockey team is going to have a playoff atmosphere in mid December during the work week. Anyone know the last time the Wings were below 0.500 in mid-December?
