Kucherov says some Tampa players "got their money and stopped working"
Bannedforlife replied to Wing Across The Pond's topic in General
I dont need to look it up, I could never forget something so hilarious. It was after we lost game 4 in the 1st round of the 2008 playoffs. It was particularly funny seeing as how we went on to win the series and the cup. Classic! -

I can really relate to what you're saying here, Lefty. Its like how I was the first person to start calling you out for your ill-informed viewpoint and wildy irrational behavior, but then others caught on and now everyone thinks you're a joke! It sure does feel good to know that I was right all along! BTW, I think its hilarious that you refer to yourself as a "super fan" considering how many times you've threatened to stop following theWings and throw all your jerseys in the trash. -
Thats true. But the argument being presented is that we will be unable to select a "real star" with the 7th pick, which couldnt be further from the truth.
-
This entire argument obviously depends on your definition of a "star player", but there are currently more All Stars playing in the NHL that were selected 7th overall or later than in the top 6. There are also more players in the Hall of Fame that were selected 7th or later.
-
Stars selected after the seventh pick Lundquist (205) Keith (54) Seabrook (14) Parise (17) Getzlaf (19) Burns (20) Perry (28) Bergeron (45) Weber (49) Pavelski (205) Byfuglien (245) Green (29) Rinne (258) Kopitar (11) Rask (21) Letang (62) Quick (72) Bishop (85) Yandle (105) Giroux (22) Marchand (71) Couture (9) Shattenkirk (14) Subban (43) Simmonds (61) Benn (129) Karlsson (15) Holtby (83) Tarasenko (16) Faulk (37) Gaudreau (104) Forsberg (11)

Thats a THN article, not TSN

I seem to remember hearing that Marchenko was highly rated for this draft as well, but he had made it known that he would only come over if he were drafted by Detroit. Hence why we were able to pick him up in the 7th.

Datsyuk Announcement to Officially Leave NHL
Bannedforlife replied to Datsyukian-Deke's topic in General
No you didnt, because no sane person would choose to drive 30 hours each direction every week or so when flying is easier, faster, safer, and depending on the price of gas in russia, cheaper. The only reason you described it as a 30 hour trip was to make Pavel look like an *******, which he isn't. -

I didnt assume a 30 hour flight time, I assumed that Lefty either didnt know or was exaggerating the flight time between St Pberg and Datsyuks home town and was pointing out his mistake. -
Datsyuk Announcement to Officially Leave NHL

Not sure why I assumed he would travel by plane to see his daughter? Because when I imagine the illustration of a Venn diagram, Pavel Datsyuk would be located at the intersection of the following sets: A) Needs to travel a great distance B) Has the means to afford a plane ticket C) Isnt a complete moron -

Yea, and if he walked it would take about 2000 hours. Why the f*** would a professional athelete and millionaire drive anywhere for 30 hours? -

Flying around the world at the equator in a commercial airplane would take about 45 hours. Not sure if planes with that kind of range exist. -

signed Drew Miller re-signs... 1 year deal $1.025 million

I think this was Holland's way of demonstrating to Stamkos that if he signs with Detroit he will continue to be employed long past his abilities have left him. Crafty move, Ken. -

Trade for his rights, offer him 11x8. Done and done. -
Did it ever occur to people that some guy on a message board read 2 paragraphs of a scouting report and decided that this kid is the next Scott Stevens and therefore Holland screwed up yet again and now this franchise is doomed forevarz?!?!
-
He is the best player theyve ever had
-
Our team will be better with Chowlowski, whoever we pick at 53, and whoever we sign with the 7.5 million cap space, then we would have been with Chychrun and Datsyuk's empty cap hit. Big win today.

No, we'd be re-signing him, not a free agent signing. At least i think so.. -

I would trade Arizona's second for Stammers rights and then offer him 11x8. No one else can touch that. -
I bet all the Holland haters will still figure out a way to give Bowman the credit for this
-
Thats pretty ******* awesome!
