No, we lost one of our best prospects who fills a whole that this team desperately needs in a scoring right handed center. We made the playoffs which is great, but I think we could have done it without Legwand, or even with jarncrok in that position. Legwand was irrelevant IMO. The pick is now a second rounder, which can easily become a good player Basically, we traded a 2nd pick (pretty high one too) and a promising prospect for 5 extra games of hockey.

I don't think ive disliked a player as much as I do franzen after this season. The guy NEEDS to go. Do yourself and the NHL a favor and retire after a buyout clearly he doesnt want to play

I find he has been better but he seems to be trying too hard with the puck. He appears to be sort of a hog and i even saw dats wanting the puck a couple games ago and smith didnt even notice him... dats even hit him with his stick as he was skating behind him He is definately more effective when he plays this way, but he just needs to stop playing 4th forward so much

Laviollete? Really? Thats everyones suggestion after this? First off: He is NOT a good coach. Philly suddenly becomes one of the best teams in the league once he gets fired...okay. Plus hes unemployed for a reason, lots of teams are looking for a head coach. I am not a babs supporter by any means but he belongs here and does a good job, this team is much better with him than without. Second, its the team Holland gives to babcock that is the issue. You think any coach can make a team whos second best defenceman is kyle quincey make it past the first round? Let alone make it to the playoffs. The bottom pairing of Kindl-Lashoff? We probably have a tied series if not for that hole Holland decided to ignore

The only thing i have against that line is they have the tendency to make bad rookie decisions and turn the puck over. add bertuzzi?

Where did I say andersson is good? The guy is a plug as well Jurco is what we need as we struggle to score goals, not a slow,defensively liable, useless turnover machine prone to taking penalties against the best PP in the league..... the guy brings down whatever line he plays on

Hes on this team because every line has a role. Glendenning fits the shutdown center role EXTREMELY well Dats is now able to play against other team's 2,3,4 line because glendenning is somehow capable of shutting down other teams top centers. Not every player needs to provide offence, especially a 4th liner As per the thread: I despise Quincey Kindl Bertuzzi and right now Franzen

reasons were losing: top line is terrible and needs to be split up seems like kindl+lash are on the ice more than anyone and do something rediculous every shift too many men (AGAIN) smith needs to stop being a hero and pass the puck every now and then. Stop trying to play datsyuk and carry the puck into the neutral zone.... so many turnovers Kronwall may have also just played the worst period of hockey ive seen from him

Lets be real here, Bertuzzi is the worst player on our roster and hopefully never sees any ice time again Any line he plays on will instantly be turning over the puck and getting scored on also: Kindl REALLY needs to go. I find myself yelling at the tv everytime hes on the ice I really don't see how either sproul or ouellet wouldnt be an upgrade as its impossible to be softer than he is

Well this is what I wanted the other day: Nyquist - Dats - Abby Tatar - Sheahan - Jurco Franzen - Helm/Legwand - Alfredsson Miller - Glendenning - Legwand/Helm and this is what lines were at practice today: Nyquist-Datsyuk-Abdelkader, Franzen-Helm-Alfredsson, Tatar-Sheahan-Jurco, Miller-Glendening-Legwand. Glad babs if finally lurking LGW and listening to me

There is only one award for the goalies to try and win....which gives an award to 3% of starting goalies. Theres not really anything else they could try and give them something to compete for other than shutouts

Honestly, in the last stretch Quincey has been great. Nothing really offensively, but his bonehead factor has gone down quite a bit This is unfortunate because it will probably entice our legendary GM to lock him up for another 6 seasons with a NTC.

Heres what WILL happen: Franzen - Dats - Abby (hate this line) Tatar - Sheahan - Nyquist Jurco/Miller - Helm - Alfie/Bertuzzi Miller/Jurco - Glendenning - Legwand Kronwall - Smith Dekeyser - Quincey Kindl - Lashoff Here's what I think would be the most productive lineup with the assumption that sproul/oullet remain in the minors: Nyquist - Dats - Abby Tatar - Sheahan - Jurco Franzen - Helm/Legwand - Alfredsson Miller - Glendenning - Legwand/Helm Kronwall/Smith Dekeyser/Lashoff Quincey/Kindl Lash/Kindl NEED to be separated if we have any chance of making it anywhere. That might be the worst D pairing I've seen in detroit in recent time. Smith can't be removed from Kronner as he is clearly at his best with someone reliable beside him. The bottom 2 pairings are balanced out as much as possible this way. Dats has shown to not play well with franzen/alfie but I'm sure we'll still see that combination throughout the first round. IMO, he needs a player like abby with another fast skilled forward such as nyquist/jurco on his line. IF franzen decides to show up for a few shifts he'd be okay on datsyuks line as long as there is that skilled forward on that line as well.

Im hoping this is a sign of either kindl or lashoff sitting for the playoffs....don't really care which one, as that pairing alone will single handedly eliminate us from the playoffs I think id like to see: Kronwall - Smith Dekeyser - Sproul Quincey - Lash/Kindl This balances out the lines as much as possible while smith gets to keep playing with kronwall where he seems to play best Plus if sproul turns out to be any good, his RH shot can really help on the powerplay.

Really..? I don't have earrings or tattoos and probably never will, but there is absoloutely NOTHING wrong with either. This is nothing close to a bad influence for children which seems to be what you are suggesting. As per the deal, I too miss TSN because everyone with that station lives and breathes hockey. I've never been a fan of sportsnet... havn't even been watching highlights this year just because of how dry it is
