Today Pavel turned 32 years old!

I can tell you have never been part of a football team before. The hardest thing about football is practice... 5 times a week 2-3 hours a day. It literally takes over your life during the season, you can't really do anything else. Trust me, it takes alot of passion to play football. What football does to the body over even a 10 game season (which is all i've played) takes a tremendous toll on the body...I can't even imagine a 16 game season.

I would do it, but chicago wouldnt. They don't need cleary and the only reason they would trade sharp is to get rid of cap space, which bringing in cleary doesnt do. I also don't see the point of the picks being in there, as we are just swapping 1st and 2nd round picks, which will probably be 3-5 spots apart.

The only way this would be possible is it were to be a 3 team deal. Something along the lines of To DET- Patrick Sharp To CHI- Wayne Simmonds, 2nd round pick, Meech To LA- Daniel Cleary CHI would be in this so they could shed some salary and hope to get some prospects in return. Another team would need to jump in to take the salary off DET. Obviously the trade would never go down like this, but it would have to be along these lines.

Hey great idea! While we're at it, we can trade datsyuk for koivu, lidstrom for neidermayer (well his rights to talk him out of retirement) and then franzen for lupul. (That way we can get rid of franzen's long term contract) Sounds like a plan!

Boogard trained with datsyuk in Russia last offseason as well. That is why some people speculated that Boogard signing in Detroit was a good possibility.

I was dissapointed in his ranking at first, until i realised it was the top 10 hitters of all time, so after i found that out its nice to see kronner on there. I was hoping he would have a bigger segment, but oh well

I wouldn't really look at his record as a performance factor considering he played for the Islanders. His Save percentage was decent, but his GAA has me concerned a bit. He did manage to play lights out against Detroit, I guess the worst thing that can come out of this signing is he doesn't play well and just leaves next season.

Joey Macdonald....I thought this was a joke when I first heard it This guy was terrible when he played for us, but not too sure how he panned out when he left, hopefully it turns out to be a great signing.

Trust me. We don't want this guy. Been placed on waivers twice, and makes 3.5 MILnext season. Just because we pick him up on waivers doesnt mean that he will be signed at league minimum. Went from 93 points to 70, then 37, 29, and finally 14. Honestly, there is really no potential here for him to get 56 goals and 93 points again.

Well the real reason I became a wings fan was when i played NHL 98 or something as a kid. My goal was to pick a favorite team and it was SJ at one point because I found they had the best logo. Eventually I choose DET because they had the highest overall, and it started from there. I was about 8 at the time, and was a casual wings fan until 2005. Out of nowhere I couldn't bear to miss a game. Before I found out about atdhe.net and other sites, I would go to yahoosports and watch the game recap as it went on live. I literally sat there, waiting and waiting for the score to change. Once I found out about the streaming sites, I have probably only missed about 5 games since then. My favorite player was Shanahan, but quickly became Datsyuk once i started watching every game. Now, I can safely say that about 50% of my Red Wings love is thanks to datsyuk.
