Stop it with your facts. Feelings are where it's at.

A large portion of LGW should be celebrating right now. You got what you wanted - Howard lost.

    I didn't enjoy that.

    Can that be challenged?

    Great Reffing?

I hate diving. But, acting like your face got mauled when a stick comes close, but makes no contact.... and holding the opponents stick under your arm purposefully to draw a hooking call are just as unsportsmanlike, in my opinion. It's just diving that gets the attention, though.

Considering the current state of the Wings' power play.... I would say the fewer penalties overall in this game, the better for Detroit.

12/10 GDT : Montreal Canadiens at Red Wings, 7:30 EST

No shots. Pathetic. You suck, Red Wings power play.

    1) Who on the coaching staff is responsible for the power play? 2) Who on the coaching staff should be responsible for the power play?* *The answers to questons 1 and 2 (above) can not be the same.

12/08 GDT : Red Wings at Washington Capitals, 7:30 ET

You're on the wrong forum if you don't want to trash Howard at every opportunity and love Mrazek unconditionally. Get with the program. Mrazek gooood! Howard baaaad!

Well, that was always going to be a loss if it got to shootout. NHL gets their 2 points for the Caps that they were obviously pushing for.

Penalty for bothering Ovechkin leads to an Ovechkin goal.

12/3 GDT : Arizona Coyotes at Red Wings, 7:30 EST

Well, I didn't mean to say any blow could be lessened, I was only speaking in reference to the hit on Miller. Also, I think Hanzal's trip on Pulkkinen prior to the hit probably had a lot to do with the injury, didn't it?.... that injury seems like it could have happened in any decade with a trip like that that close to the boards. Otherwise, I am in agreement. My understanding was that the rule changes (no more clutching/grabbing/'hugging'/etc.) were made for more offense. But, it seems to have led to more injuries... And, there hasn't really been more offense. The 90s game was better overall.

Bummer, Miller & Pulkkinen out a while

Surely you are being sarcastic. Half a second? We're not talking about Mitch Callahan here. Tomas Jurco has over 100 NHL games under his belt.

Perhaps I have misrepresented myself a bit because I don't totally disagree with you. I wasn't saying it was a dirty hit, in my opinion. I was stating my thoughts based on my understanding of today's rules (which aren't always followed and are, as a result, a bit of a gray area for me). Or maybe my understanding of the rule is flawed.Anyway, if you think that he was completely unable to lessen the contact with Miller's head, then we disagree there.... but that's about it.

12/3 GDT : Arizona Coyotes at Red Wings, 7:30 EST

I think the hit on Miller used to be clean. I'm not so sure that's true anymore. I don't think there is much of an argument that the head wasn't a principal point of contact (it clearly was) and Miller didn't appear to make any sudden movement that put his head into the hit at the last second. I think the onus is now (supposed to be) on the hitter to find a way to make that hit without significant head contact. The guy could have done something to avoid hitting the head and he chose not to. In any case, I was moreso saying that we can give Miller a pass on not 'taking it up with the guy who just nailed him,' you know, since he didn't seem quite right at the time.

I suppose we'll give Drew Miller a pass on that one, though.

11/29 GDT : Florida Panthers at Red Wings, 2:00 EST

Because we can't score in ANY situation (unless they just give us the puck and a wide open path to their goal).

11/29 GDT : Florida Panthers at Red Wings, 2:00 EST

Is this team ever going to find a way to score goals with any consistency?

Jurco on Conditioning Assignment in GRs

Hmm.. I was actually hoping he would be with Zetterberg and Larkin. And, Abdelkader would get the other spot with Datsyuk and Richards.

11/25 GDT : Boston Bruins at Red Wings, 7:30 EST

A well played game for the most part. An undeserved loss, I think. Boston really had no business being in this game. Mrazek needs to make the "key" save at the end there that everyone complains Howard doesn't make. But, moreso, they've got to get the puck into the net more than that. It was Gustavsson in net and you dominated possession - score more than 2 goals.

Jurco on Conditioning Assignment in GRs

So, Sheahan scored more than Jurco in 2013-14. Sheahan scored more than Jurco in 2014-15. Sheahan has admittedly dropped off in scoring so far in 2015-16, but still has as many goals in 21 games as Jurco had in 63 games last season. And, as you mention, outside of scoring Sheahan is the more useful of the two when in the lineup because he can play center. But, Sheahan should be removed from the lineup and replaced with Jurco.... for more scoring?

    Ferraro on waivers

If he hadn't scored one last year and it would be his 1st NHL goal, I would say he'd definitely score against Detroit.
  24. barabbas16

    Ferraro on waivers

Not the end of the world. He would have helped Grand Rapids though, obviously.

11/21 GDT : Red Wings at St. Louis Blues, 8:00 EST

I don't even have to read the whole thread to know this is my favorite post. At least one out of the large number of LGW that feel exactly this is willing to say it. Good on you for honesty.
