The game tonight was literally unwatchable in the first period, got better in the second, and then was unwatchable in the third again. Unfortunately I don't have a vote on what cable provider my household uses...

From the sound of the second article, it seems Babcock will be giving Kindl an opportunity to show us his offensive abilities tonight. Lashoff is scratched for Kindl to allegedly get the power play going. He's also been paired with Huskins, who's been about as responsible defensively as you could ask a guy to be. Kindl's chance is tonight, and I don't think it will be there for long, because Lashoff wasn't sent back to GR.

It's refreshing to see someone wearing a Winged Wheel who can shoot the puck that way. I still think he needs to play stronger in the corners and contribute more in the cycle. Hiding in these quiet areas is okay in the regular season, especially when he's still somewhat unknown throughout the league, but come playoffs his linemates will need help pressuring down low, and fighting in the corners. Anyway, there's a couple months still for him to add muscle and learn how to properly use it, and continue to adjust to NA hockey, but if he sits on his laurels and doesn't try to improve these aspects of his game, I promise two things: the Wings won't get far in the postseason, and he won't be long for this league (unless the Maple Leafs want him).

His feet were clearly off the ground before he even made contact (as opposed to exploding upward throughout the hit), and combining that with the fact that the principle point of contact was the head, and you have a reasonable and fair one game suspension.

My OCD kicks in for games 81-82

N=1 or 2 is not the way to analyze how good a team is. The Wings typically like to assess their play in 10-game clusters, but since this is a shortened season, lets go with groups of five. We still have three more games to go, then I think it will be fair to see where this team stands, and whether they are trending up or down.

It was awesome seeing Brunner get so many great chances to score on NHL ice. I still want to see him be more effective along the boards and in the corners though. I noticed he tends to let his teammates do the dirty work for him. Hopefully he learns to be more effective with his body.
