I'll take Kubina if he brings along Malone or Downy. Kubina and Downey for Kindl, Emmerton, and a 4th rd pick

This team could use a little adversity. I like Abby centering the second line if only for his responsibility in our own end. Who knows, maybe there will be some chemistry

All teams that are successful are hated outside their fan base. If they're successful; one of the best or the best in the league, that means they're a big threat to the success of some other team. Thus hatred is born. Nobody hated the sharks before they started beating us. Nobody hates the penguins, or even Crosby for that matter, until they started getting legitimately threatening. Up until recently, Chicago was the team everyone loved to play because it was an easy 2 points. Now that they won a cup and stand to challenge for it for at least a little while, there are a ton of folks that hate the organization. The wings have been a threat to other team's success, and that threat has existed for 20 years. That timeline is long enough for just about every team in the league to have been competitive or near the top at least once. In other words we have directly threatened (and often succeeded) at stoping just about every team from reaching their ultimate goal during a period when they actually stood a chance at winning at least once. We're widely hated for this reason.

It's lundqvist's trophy this year. Howard can have it once he pays his dues.

Parise for the Wings?? Count me in!! Oh... Never mind then
-
Guess we'll just have to win two more

Columbus will demand a very high price for him, but this is one bidding war I would be glad for holland to get involved in. Who knows whether lidstrom and homer will be here next year, and dats and Z aren't getting any younger. Couple that with the almost certainty that Stuart (who I think has been our best defenseman this year, I'm ready for the flame wars) will be gone and you have a situation where you have to pull the trigger on something. I don't want to look back at this year and think "what if...". Besides; we have our draft picks, we have a cupboard full of prospects, we have three lines worth of bottom six responsible role players, and we have the cap space. I don't know how much more of an ideal trade situation you can ask for. I never thought I'd say this but I'm ready and willing to overpay for Rick Nash to play on a line with Datsyuk.

Joey Mac plays very similar to Jimmy Howard, just with not as much skill. The Wings go about their business and goals are minimized as a result. With Conklin in net, you could see that Ty was trying to play that patient, yet aggressive style and wasn't comfortable with it. He was getting burned. The Wings were collapsing in on the net to play more to Conklin, and they weren't comfortable with it either. Other teams were cycling with ease in our zone and creating more opportunities to score. The result was high GAA. MacDonald is in a good situation because of his goaltending style. It complements the Wings' system and we can get away with having a no. 3/AHL goalie in net and not suffer the way that folks might expect. He has my worthless approval for official backup.

If it was a one year contract I'd be willing to overlook all the warning signs that follow this guy around, but it's too much of a risk for a long term investment on someone who could become a cancer and render himself a very difficult person to move

I don't know if we'll be seeing Eaves at all this year. Kenny and Mick alluded to him having nagging concussion problems today during the game, in addition to the busted jaw.

Emmerron sure is becoming good trade bait

Heaven forbid something happen to jimmy and he ends up on the ir for the postseason, because he has been quite the work horse and as consistent as anyone could ask. Unfortunately the same cant be said for Conklin. I don't trust him between the pipes. Regardless of how the team plays in front of him, the puck hasnt been hitting him and this late in the season I think it might be asking much for something to change now. Joey Mac is getting the start tonight, so for the time being it seems that the organization is looking to see if MacDonald is a viable backup option, but given the short time between now and the deadline, are there enough games to determine how viable that option is? Or should Holland play it safe and deal for a back-up at the deadline? What would everyone prefer?

I would totally trade for Giggy and Quincey. Package up something with McCollum maybe
-
I'm not willing to trade him, but he needs to get his head out of his ass and play like he actually cares, or if he has some lingering injury that's causing his abysmal play then he needs to get the hell off the ice so he can rest up and not be dead weight on the ice.
-
Its funny, but I would accept most of the trade proposals posted here if it meant getting Nash on a line wih datsyuk
-
The bright side: he finished the game last night despite breaking it mid-game. The wings are in 1st place overall, which is the most ideal position to be in when a goalie gets injured, instead of say 5th place or 9th place etc. The team knows that it's Conklin behind them now. No more Howie to the rescue, no Howie to win shootouts for us. If that's not incentive to give it your very best then I don't know to tell you.

Thanks for clearing that up. I haven't been on nearly as frequently as I used to but I noticed I haven't read an Eva post in a while, then your post pops up and I was like "oh no!"
-
Maybe I'm reading too much into this but Eva unit zero? And no longer with us as in not just not on the forum but he passed?

Zetterberg is so painful to watch this year. He's supposed to be one of the best players on our team, and I don't even know if he's the best player on his line right now...
-
So this is where everyone plays inspired right?
-
I don't know how I feel about this, if true. I don't see how either player is worth a 1st rounder or a top prospect, let alone both. I don't know a whole lot about either player though so I'll hold official judgment until someone more knowledgable than I gives some info. If true though, I wonder what two players hit the press box.

I have a hard time seeing Suter come to Detroit. I'm sure he'll get more elsewhere, and the predators likely won't be trading within the division, especially with how competitive it is. I hope to god im wrong though.

I second the slows BBQ comment. That place makes magic, not food.
