He doesn't seem like the type who would even be interested in the Wings. But that's just how I perceive him. Who knows what he really thinks.

I heard Eklund is a pretty reliable source

Actually I'm expecting Detroit to trade away the top pick.

I was going to mention that Ericsson is a good player for his position as a bottom defensman and salary, but Matt just reinstated the negative thread voting system and I like where my rep is at.

VAN/SJS: 4-1 BOS/TBL: 4-2

He still speaks zero english. It amazes me how fluent and without accent Lidstrom is, and then in contrast Homer sounds like a chainsaw hacking away at what can sometimes be deciphered as English language. It adds to his charm.

Apparently Datsyuk and Franzen are game time decisions.
-
He must be related to John Keating.

Ha the girl is just as much a hardass as Babs is.

So who preferred the Wings vs the Sharks over this?? Cuz I liked the Wings' chances against a bunch of kittens tied up in yarn.

The 1st round sweep gives us fans some extra time to reach our post quota, but hopefully we aren't rusty and forget that we need a full 500 post effort for a game 1 victory. 490 posts won't cut it.

Righteous idea but he isn't going to get anywhere. He openly admitted to breaking a city ordinance, and that's that.

I have a mental picture of Matt that I envision with red clothes, but now I'm envisioning Mike Lee looking the same way, except with blue clothes. Apparently in my mind, hockey forum administrators are brothers in the same sense that Mario and Luigi are brothers. Anyway, good post and good luck.

Any Canucks fans or scouts that happen to come across this forum may want to check out the following information on Shea Weber, in hopes of getting to the CF: http://brenthrax.blogspot.com/2011/04/shea-weber-facts.html

I think its equally as important to gauge not only the ideal match-up for the Wings between either the Sharks or the Preds, but also what is the least ideal match-up for the Sharks/Canucks. Would you rather vs the Sharks and have Vancouver square off against the Preds, or would you prefer the Sharks take on the Blackhawks while we vs the Preds? The Sharks and Predators are the two teams I wanted to avoid more than any others in the postseason, but I think Sharks/Blackhawks will be a grueling series with the winner limping to the CF wounded more-so than a Canucks/Preds matchup. I also like our odds better against Nashville than the Sharks, although not by much. Having said that, go Chicago!

Lidstrom doesn't even know whether he wants to play more than one year. I don't think either side would be okay with a longer term contract at this point. 1yr/contract is ideal for both sides.
-
The sharks scare me the most. Ideally, Vancouver will lose to Chicago, then the Hawks will duke it out with the Sharks for 7 games while we play Nashville. Although Nashville scares me too.

This would be a good thing for Shanahan to research in his hockey research division this summer.

I don't buy it. I'm hopeful that I'm wrong, but I expect he'll be out of the lineup a bit longer.
-
The Jets had less fans going to their games than the Coyotes do/did.

By the book it was a blindside hit to the head. It wasn't nearly as vicious as the posterboy hits to the head we've seen in the past, but the league was being serious about eliminating head contact and that's what this is about.

I think Kronwall was quietly the MVP of the series. The guy wasn't deking guys out or mowing guys down consistently like Dats and Helm, but he was blocking shots, shutting down the opposition every time he was on the ice, and he contributed offensively on a regular basis.

i still don't get how this award can be given annually.
