I'm going with my girlfriend (her treat ) and I'm a bit worried about her getting hassled. Its especially unnerving because I have a cast on my arm for a broken bone in my hand so I can't even properly defend her/me if it comes down to it. Fortunately we're going with another couple so they'll have to deal with a party at least, if anyone is dumb or drunk enough to start s***. I went to a Tigers/White Sox game in Chicago and the fans razzed us but it was all in good fun. Nothing malicious occurred. Hopefully the same blokes that go to White Sox games attend Blackhawk games in December.

The show didn't center around him or Ovechkin in the least. HBO is giving as much attention to these two that the NHL and popular media outlets should. Acknowledge that they're phenomenal players and leaders of their respective teams, but they're only one piece to the puzzle. This is really good television and I'm looking forward to the next one. I loved Dupuis "F*** you Geno" right when he walks in the room.

Both games I've noticed him making chances and working for it. I'd say the points should start coming if he keeps it up.

This was good. I'm glad that they aren't pushing the Ovechkin/Crosby hype machine, but aren't ignoring them either. The show was definitely centered around the teams first. Also: Ovie to the refs after Semin crosschecks someone in the neck and breaks skin "He must have soft skin, no?"

The beers are just out of shot. So quick question: Datsyuk gets the puck and he has one guy between him and the goalie and its Lidstrom. Does Dats get by him or does Lids keep him to the outside and force a low percentage shot?

I agree, and if I recall correctly, an insane amount of his points were scored on the power play back when he was with us last.

That guy is all business.

Actually tonight Hudler looked as close as he ever has to his old self. He held onto pucks a little longer and seemed a little more comfortable in the offensive zone. I did notice he opted for the pass on a mini two-on-one in the second where I'm almost certain a confident Hudler would've shot. He was pretty square to the net for a 2 on 1.

Just a side note, but I love how old and frail looking Hasek looks off the ice. Surprise! Actually he just so happens to be one of the best goalies in hockey history.

Anyone have a 3D-TV and NHL Network? The game against the Leafs and Montreal is being broadcast live in 3D on the NHL Network (http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=546012). Any reviews of how it looks?

My girlfriend's family has a 3D-tv and what little that is presented in 3D is gorgeous. They don't have NHL network though, so I can't say how hockey would look.

Anybody have any experience with Standing Room seats over in Chicago? The girlfriend is taking me next week.

I don't have the tickets myself so I can't see any details that might be on them but I was under the impression that Standing Room was behind the nets above the 300 level seats. Could you explain the bar section a little more? Does it have a view to the ice directly or do you watch via TV? Where is it located?

The way to Detroit is not unlike the way to a Stanley Cup. No matter how much talent you may have, you're not entitled to it until you do your time, make sacrifices and earn it. These cocky and impatient minor league players are demonstrating they don't have what it takes to handle disappointment at the NHL level, and that's an essential skill to have. Especially in Detroit where expectations are impossibly high, year in and year out.
