He didn't look 40 there. -
It was kind of easy for me to look past the Moore incident when he came to the Wings, although I'm obviously biased. Maybe I'm also an intrinsically bad person. By the way, who is that in your avatar?
-
No, pi is a Greek letter similar to alpha, beta, gamma, delta, epsilon, etc. Pi was chosen specifically as the name for the 3.14 constant most likely because pi is the first letter of perimeter in Greek, and the constant 3.14 is the ratio of the circumference (perimeter) of a circle to its diameter.
-
Have you ever noticed that 3.14 backwards looks eerily like PIE?
-
I hear serious Moore talk every time Bertuzzi does anything of note, whether it be physical or scoring a nice shootout goal.

Franzen will miss the next three games (although I suspect he'll be out all preseason). http://tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=334867

Haha: Does Orpik deserve to be suspended? "Yeah," Franzen said.

ANYTHING INVOLVING THE EXALTED ONE CROSBY IS MAJOR
-
He really seems to enjoy being on a line with Franzen. They started working well together last year late in the playoffs, and they seemed to have fun passing back and forth through training camp. Now we hear Burt pummeling Orpik for kneeing Franzen.
-
I believe it is in reference to the HBO Crosby/Ovechkin "Hard Knocks"-like documentary
-
This will be fun to watch. I can't wait to see the montage of Crosby and Ovechkin's pregame rituals. Crosby will be pouring over notes about his opponent while jogging in place and listening to some inspirational 80's music, taking every second seriously and professionally, while Ovechkin will show up to the locker-room late wearing sunglasses with 5 chicks hanging all over him.

Pre-Season 9/22 GDT: Red Wings at Pittsburgh Penguins

Franzen says he's fine; he's gonna rest it for a couple days. Oh, and the article said Orpik got a pounding from Bert. http://www.freep.com/article/20100923/SPORTS05/100923013/1320/Wings-Franzen-says-hes-OK -

McCollum is actually Jiri Hudler in disguise. You can kind of see it if you look closely. Anyway, he's out to prove that size doesn't matter. -
Even though lines change about 300 times per season, I really like how Babs' projected line-up is looking. Problem is, I don't know which line I'm most excited about? Datsyuk-Zetterberg-Homer was the best line in the league a couple years ago, when they had the time to establish chemistry (and we had the depth to allow them to). I'm pretty pumped about their domination potential, and doing it through all those highlight-reel plays. Oh, and Homer is goofy as hell. Bertuzzi-Filp-Franzen is probably the line that I can comfortably say I'm the least excited about. Bert is a way-hot to way-cold kind of guy, Filp has shown flashes of brilliance but IMO has yet to prove himself as a legit second-line center. Hopefully this year is it. Honestly the only thing that hooks me into this line is Franzen but that's because of his individual efforts. By the way, I'm excited to hear that he's feeling as good as he ever has and he's looking forward to tearing it up out there. Cleary-Modano-Hudler is way sweet to see on the third line. Cleary feels revitalized and provides plenty of grit for a bottom six line. Hudler is definitely more than capable of stomping on the opponent, and Modano, despite being on the cusp of retirement is a story in itself. I expect these guys to get a lot of ice time, and a lot of points (at least for a third line). Abby-Helm-Eaves is crazy energy and crazy speed. It has been quite a while since I've looked forward to seeing the fourth line on the ice, especially considering there's no enforcer. Just pure energy. Oh, and Abby started boxing. Really its between the 1st 3rd and 4th lines for me, but I really can't narrow it down. How bout you guys?

You know, I was suprised that Trev was as good as he was. In the brief moment when he had the puck he looked like he was a capable player, attempting to perform a deke that most of us would probably try. After that it gets really messy. It makes me want to try to take on Pav and see how long I can hold the puck. My strategy would be to skate in the opposite direction and hide behind the net for as long as possible. I think I can suck 5 or 6 good seconds out of that.
-
I was expecting way more than that. Get Trev out there to show Z how its done.
-
Ericcson looks the same
-
Franzen and Bert seem to have a bit of chemistry.

Productivity across Michigan reached a record low today among the workforce, as millions of graphs show a decrease in business efficiency beginning around noon on September 21st. Current economists are looking into why such a phenomenon has occurred, but are currently baffled. In other news, the Red Wings continued their preseason warm-up with a Red vs White scrimmage today.

I was thinking Schistosome cercarial dermatitis, aka swimmer's itch, although after experiencing it myself I don't think I could wish that upon anybody. Lets go with sumac. -

I kind of want to see you get an injury of rashes just for saying that. -

I totally did not realize that the Wings signed MacDonald back in July. I thought he was just hanging out with us for training camp and planned to head back to some other team.
