Williams is not playing tonight. Everybody knows this except Ritola, which is all that matters.

3-0 might be an impossible stretch to overcome, but its now 3-1, and the Habs did that in the last round against an even scarier foe.

My thoughts exactly. Thank God this game wasn't on NBC or we'd be hearing about Rafalski's nonactive stick for 20 minutes.

Lot's of talk about Lidstrom's possible retirement...none abou

Actually I'm even more surprised that nobody has mentioned that tonight may have been the last game played at the Joe, what with the lease ending this summer. Also: make with the lines -
why Montreal or Boston? I'm not answering until you do

It was a marginal goal at best but lets not discredit Heatley's scoring prowess. He isn't exactly unfamiliar with ripping shots past goalies.

The Wings are down 3-0 in the series to the top team in the West and now the only way out is to essentially sweep the Sharks. But I'm not nervous about this task at all. In all three games I thought the Wings played sub-par and in all three games I thought the Sharks had some lucky breaks they were smart enough to capitalize on. In addition, whether you want to blame the refs, lazy play, or a combination of the two, the Wings have 24 penalties to San Jose's 14. Oddly enough the Wings have lost each game by a single goal, and in two of the three games the Wings carried a lead into the third period. That doesn't exactly scream 'being dominated' to me. Incidentally, out of all instances in history that I'm aware of when a team has fallen down 0-3, I feel this team has one of, if not the best opportunity to pull off an upset. Will they do it? Beats the hell out of me, but if they play like they are capable of playing, from Datsyuk down to Howard, for 60 minutes, I don't see anything that the Sharks possess that can stop them. Yeah this position sucks balls, but I'm not nervous about it. Actually I'm kind of excited. I suppose this is what happens when the Wings face elimination in four out of their past five series.

So its Babcock's fault that Ozzie has been completely unreliable this season? And I assume that it would also be Babcock's fault if he gave Ozzie the time to improve (assuming he would approve that is), and destroyed the team's playoff hopes while he was at it.

I'm expecting Howard to step up his game.

I'm looking for a puck/ball that I can use on an outdoor surface (ie asphalt or concrete) that best simulates what an ice hockey puck feels and moves like on the ice. After doing a bit of research I've found the propuck, fly puck, and smart hockey ball seem to be good candidates and I was hoping to get some opinions on these brands as well as any others you folks may have tried out. I want to be able to stickhandle, pass, and shoot (hard) so it needs to be durable. Thanks for the help gang also, I don't know if this is in the right forum but it is technically hockey related so I'm hoping it can stay here.

I see some other team throwing a high priced contract at Howard and the Wings taking a chance on the next in line at that time.

Has anybody trained with weighted pucks? How did that work out for you

There's not one "I'm a big believer in..."

Cut it up into pieces, then stitch the pieces together into a voodoo doll and stuff it with cotton. Don't forget to bless the cotton with voodoo sweat contracted from playing hockey. At this point paint the doll blue to simulate the color of the Sharks jersey. Find a picture of Joe Pavelski with his playoff beard and tape it to the face of your doll. Now put it behind the tire of your car and run it over 4 times, one for each game of the series the Wings shall win. After this, stick pins into his arms and legs to slow down Pavelski's speed and shooting power/accuracy. Finally, place the doll next to your tv so as you watch the game additional punishment may be applied. Good luck and thanks for fixing the Red Wings by the way I'm fully expecting to see a video of all this by game time.

I just happened to be at a pro shop tonight and they had the flypuck. I was hoping to get a propuck because those are able to withstand being shot, but I bought was available. Its 6oz so it has that similar with an ice hockey puck, and the surface is slick so its able to slide over a number of surfaces (wood floors, carpet, and the hockey-skate approved tiling thats in ice arenas are all the surfaces I've tried it on so far, and it slides well on wood and carpet, not the blade-safe tiles). Obviously it doesn't slide nearly as far as on ice but its still kind of impressive. The flypuck also has a tendency to hop up on its side, but its much better at staying flat than a number of other pucks I've tried. Finally, when they say don't shoot it, they mean don't shoot it. I accidentally dropped it out in the parking-lot and it has a small dent in the corner of it Overall I would give this guy an 8 out of 10.

ps anyone who is in the Ferndale area should hit up the outdoor rinks whenever possible. I frequent Wilson and Harding (although Harding isn't a good surface for outdoor wheels)

By boys I thought you meant your pals, not your actual boys... whoops While we're at it, does anyone know of a brand of stick that's durable on concrete? I always end up using my wood hockey sticks and they get torn to shreds in like two weeks.

Ugh, I can't stand the way the stick tends to roll over the top of the ball. Handling those things is anything but crisp. Normally I use a typical street hockey ball that's filled with fluid and has a hard exterior (that's what she said) but I get so used to how that handles that when I go to ice hockey and work with a puck I need a couple games to readjust.

I always liked Staal. I always wanted to see him in a Wings jersey. I feel bad for him.

I don't know how old this is, but Peart is far and away my favorite drummer and he takes a stab and spicing up the hockey theme: ps take a look at his drumkit and his headgear

Especially considering he wiped a ref out, if I recall
