I'm not sure the shutout thing will actually go against Howard as much as some may believe. Sure he only has one shutout, and while it doesn't speak much of his ability to stop everything, it does speak volumes about his consistency. Mason had what, 10 shutouts last year contributing to his GAA and save%? That leaves room for that many more average to below average games by him. Howie has one shutout which means nine less 0's in the GAA column and nine less 1.000 in the s% column, yet he still has top five goalie numbers in each stat.

Damn I think the Avs won, which would make this a worst-case scenario for us tonight.

How many games are required to be eligible for Calder?

I'm feeling 65% Myers 30% Howard 5% other. Myers has been really solid on defense, and no rookie D is really giving him any competition. While Howard has played in many more games and has carried his team to a much higher degree, he still has to compete with Rask's numbers which are very solid.

How has Tatar been closing out the season with GR? I stopped following him just prior to the Olympics.

I know this guy isn't exactly known for scoring, but recently he seems pretty non-existent out there. In his past 10 games he has 2 points. Cleary always struck me as one of our premier grinders; someone who works hard in the corners and in the dirty areas in front of the net but lately I haven't seen too much of that from him. Any ideas?

Actually this Pens Guy seems to be quite the minority. Most of the posters at LGP seem to be quite level-headed. I actually want to join their site because a good deal of them seem to be quite educated when it comes to hockey.

Someone at the lgp forums posted the following: "I love how much Crosby hates Zetterberg. You can see he hates playing against him more than any other player, and I loved the repeated cross checks to his back as the game ended. Of course, that's essentially the highest compliment you can give one of our opponents. He's the only player I have seen that can frustrate Crosby consistently." I love reading this kind of stuff when it comes out of fans' mouths. Especially what with Ovechkin and Crosby being such heated rivals, its good for someone to notice that Z definitely gets under that kid's skin.

Does this count as instigating a fight within the closing minutes of a game, because it sure as hell looked like that's what Crosby was trying to do. Anyway, totally badass to see Jimmy not put up with Crosby's s***.

Is he really synonymous with hockey broadcasting? Also, its so nice that he can spend this momentous day with his veterinarian and his accountant.

He has really been dominating the game lately. You can tell how much the other Wings are confident in his skills, because it doesn't seem unusual lately to see someone pass to Datsyuk when he's already snug between two opponents.
