This is the lowest Jimmy has been in save percentage and goals against in a while, although he is still top ten caliber in both categories. He has looked a bit shaky since the Olympic break, but fortunately the team in front of him has been solid enough to win.

I hope we run into all three of them in the playoffs, that way there are no doubters that the Wings are truly the best when Lids is raising the cup

Legal or not, that was a dirty hit. Players need to show more respect for each other, and the nhl needs to amend its rulebook for headhunting. This s*** is happening way too often.

Howard has been a bit flustered since the Olympic break, but at the very least he is able to make the first save when a goalie should, andthat is more than what Osgood has provided this season. Besides, our defensive core is more than capable of covering up for a rookie goaltender's mistakes. Lidstrom, Raffi, Kronwall, and Stuart have all been incredibly conscious of Howard's strengths and weaknesses this year, and they have adapted their game to maximize his effectiveness. Today wasn't the first day that Howie gave up a bad rebound and the defense bailed him out. The system isn't perfect, no, but it is working.

Nashville just lost, so we're one point away from 7th now. Unfortunately we're also one point away from 9th with the inevitable Flames' win.

Vancouver just had a surge and is beating Nashville 3 to 2 in the waning minutes of that game. Calgary is beating Minnesota by one with less than ten minutes to go.

This has been a big week for the Wings, beating Colorado, Nashville, and Chicago now. Here's to hoping they keep it going, especially Dats. He's been playing possessed lately. Also thumbs up to anyone who makes a Franzen dive gif.

All they need to do is stay ahead of the teams behind us. As bad as they're position is at the moment, they are still fortunate enough to be in a situation where they can determine whether they make the playoffs or not. As of now there is no relying on others to lose. I just pray that it remains that way throughout these next 19 games.

The Olympics really bring out the worst in people.

I have more respect for his skill, definitely, but that was a result of watching him through the entire olympics, not this afternoon. The past couple games he was pretty nonexistent, outside of the OT winning goal, of course.
