My gut and my heart are conflicting right over this game

I'm getting so good at predicting exactly how and when the Wings blow games

Its tee-time isn't it. Who's going golfing?

Time to buy a watch? Because I have a watch. Edit: and to Z and D for the C: Just because I have an undying passion for physics: time most certainly does exist

What time is it? 10:39?

Now that the Wings failed to get two points, its time for Calgary and Dallas to take it to OT!

I have a good feeling about tonight

The Hudler playing third line argument works both ways. He doesn't have the skill around him to help accumulate points, but at the same time he's facing other team's third line players as well.

John Tavares - Still a strong Calder Trophy Candidate?
Echolalia replied to Playtawk's topic in General
Last I checked, TSN analysts had Howard as their favorite Calder candidate, although I still see Myers as the guy to beat. -
Well this discussion may not tell us whether Datsyuk can be stopped by goalies on the shootout, but it has revealed that Babs needs to put Draper, Helm, and Cleary into the top three shootout slots.
-
He even looks insane
-
Has Datsyuk been legitimately stopped on a shootout attempt this year? It seems like every time he doesn't score its because he misses the net.

Definitely agree. There are 10 defensman that are within his salary range (5.5M to 6.5M), 4 who get paid less than him but >/= 5.5M, and 5 that get paid more than him but </= 6.5M. He has the 5th most points in that group, and three of the four defensman with more points than him have a higher salary. He's also within three points of three of the four dman that do have more points than him. He has the second highest +/- to only Pronger, and nobody else is even close to where he is. He also takes the least amount of penalty minutes out of everyone in that group. It doesn't hurt to keep in mind that he's keeping up with his salary class on an underperforming Wings team. Given the hard stats, Rafalski could probably be valued a bit higher than he's getting paid now. Granted, as Eva will tell you, there's more to hockey than stats, but even watching him on the ice for the most part I don't see anything less than what Holland is paying him for.

I'm willing to shift the excuse train to lack of consistent chemistry. Players have been shuffled pretty much the entire year given the plethora of injuries/returns and their consistent timing. Just when a line is starting to mesh, someone gets injured, or someone returns to the lineup and Babs has to juggle things up again. Its no wonder that Helm and Draper have been the hub of the Wings' most consistent line, considering they're really the only piece that's been together the whole year. Of course excuses don't get you to the playoffs.

It truly is amazing that we're still so tight in the playoff race with all the losing this team has been doing. I really hope they can take advantage of the lack of killer instinct of the rest of the Conference.

Haha reading some of the comments in that link really demonstrate what Markov was all about: "This is the same guy who once attacked a mascot, shot a puck at a referee, and trash-talked the Senators bench after getting hit in the face with a slapshot." "Markov = Epic Win! I can't remember any other Leafs D-men that always tried to block shots teeth-first." "I remember one time when Dino Cicarelli was in his usual spot in front of the crease and Markov slewfooted him, pushed him in the face and then sat on him with his knee across Cicarelli's neck. He got a penalty, but got up arguing with the ref as if he did absolutely nothing wrong." "I remember reading an article about him during a playoff series with the Flyers. The reporter asked him what he was thinking about when the likes of Lindros and LeClaire were barreling down on him. Markov, beautifully replied, "I'm thinking f*** you and f*** you too!" Someone should base a character off this guy.
-
Yeah that's definitely it. I guess he didn't score the goal, but still: Markov is a crazy guy.
-
Didn't Markov score a goal against the Penguins to eliminate them from the playoffs, then salute Jagr as he skated away?
-
Markov always struck me as the type of guy who would kill the President if you gave him enough money. And he would do it completely stoic.
