I was really hoping the Calgary game would be on VS tonight. Also, between three consecutive NBC appearances and this, Pittsburgh sure is getting marketed well.

I expect they're going to wait as long as possible to bring him back to circumvent the cap if at all possible. I don't know off the top of my head how over the cap the Wings will be after he and Franzen return, but they may be forced to wait until near the trade deadline to activate either of them, because Holland may have to clear cap space with a trade. Any clarification would be awesome, too. All of this is just speculation and I don't even know if I have the facts straight.

Nobody holds that clipboard like Ozzie. Also, Howard wouldn't have had his moment had Osgood intentionally weakened his immune system to be susceptible to whatever bug that ended up ailing him. Howard may be doing everything right on the ice, but don't be fooled. Ozzie is pulling all the strings.

Pittsburgh hasn't exactly been on fire either. They have 6 more points than us and one game in hand, and they play in a watered down Eastern Conference. Also, their special teams have been worse than ours has. I don't see how this game is impossible to win by any means. -

If a truly accurate model could be produced then people wouldn't allow you to gamble on it, would they? Anyway, I don't know the exact equations they use, but it says at the top that "All future unplayed games are assumed won/lost with a probability based upon relative team strengths". How you want to interpret that is up to you.

Well, he got the game winning goal, as well as an assist on the power play (although admittedly his assist really didn't contribute to the play as his stick just redirected the puck a bit. credit to him wreaking havoc in front of the net, though, to leave Willy wide open) -
