Looks like the injury era for this season is finally coming to a close. And with the Wings breathing down a playoff spot's back I guess we can say that they succeeded in their 1st half mission of keeping close with the pack until everyone gets healthy.

Actually I was under the impression that hockey was derived from bandy, which was definitely popular in England, but apparently there are records of bandy predecessors being played in early Russia as well. Although you can find records of playing a sport where you guide a ballish thing into a net with a stick all throughout the world dating back thousands of years.

I'm assuming Mickey talked with Lilja and he mentioned something during conversation that he could be back soon. Mickey is going on Lilja's word, which based on Holland's quote hasn't been stated by an official doctor, so Holland is playing the safe route and saying he hasn't heard anything. Or so I think.

Hopefully Edmonton somehow pulls out a win tonight, despite only having won one of their last ten. For the record, the Stars haven't fared much better, going 3-7 their last ten. Also I'm rooting for Colorado to win this one. Should Nashville walk away without a point they'll be only three points ahead of us with one extra game played. But most importantly, no 3 point games tonight (which naturally means that all will go to a shootout).

Miller has outperformed Leino in every aspect of the game since we picked him up. It's not that hard to see that Leino has the talent to be a better player than Miller (as well as about half the team), but he's allowing himself to lose the small battles which is exactly what this team doesn't need. Miller will be in.

I don't think there's a Cup competitor out there that can afford a 10M player. I don't think there ever will be. If Kovy is serious about winning a Stanley Cup in his lifetime, he's going to have to drop at least 2M from that dream.
