I think the toughness is more a product of all the role players we have getting 2nd and 3rd line minutes. When Franzen and Homer and Williams all come back, there's less opportunity for Eaves, Abby, Miller, May etc to get on the ice. -
Take a look at the goalie during the puck drop. He wasn't lined up with the play at all. Had he been paying attention and not dilly-dallying he would've been squared off like he should have been, and the shot most likely doesn't go in. Good on Carter to notice it, though. I don't think he even takes the shot if Garon was where he was supposed to be.

Mike Green is a defensive liability and he proved it numerously tonight. He makes up for it with tons of nice goals, much the same way Avatar makes up for a s***ty script with tons of nice graphics.

Look who's jumping the gun. Again. You said it yourself, there's still 30 games left to play, and last time I checked the Wings were only one point out of the playoffs. Everyone with more points is also somewhere on the schedule between now and the end of the season, so its not even like the Wings need to rely on other teams losing to make the playoffs. -

The only positive of the Wings playing at the Palace is less games being pushed to FSN+, of course by then I'll be in a market that provides FSN+ so its a moot point for me.

Datsyuk and Bertuzzi are well established shootout personnel, and I wouldn't even mind them being 1 and 2. I would like to see Eaves get some more shootout opportunities until Williams gets back into the lineup. The kid used to be all about scoring until his career turned sour.
