That works both ways, though. Leino may have more opportunities to score, but he's also versing more skilled players than Kopecky is. Kopy has been up against other team's 4th liners and still has a -8.
-
So THAT explains it!
-
If Kopecky were on the team right now he would be injured.

We were playing the second of back to back nights tonight while Chicago had an opportunity to rest back in October. Additionally, the magnitude of our injuries tonight is something that I don't think I have every seen in the NHL before, Chicago's team now or back in October included. Finally, despite the Wings not giving an A game tonight, the only goals that Chicago were able to score were fluky and had more to do with Osgood's weaknesses than the Blackhawks' strengths. Granted we were outplayed tonight, but if Osgood was on his game tonight the Wings would have been one shot away from a tie/win until the final buzzer. All things considered I'm still comfortable with our chances in another Wings/Hawks matchup next May/June.

Don Cherry and the like to blame for hockey violence
Echolalia replied to CenterIce's topic in General
I happen to find Cherry's dress code very tasteful and your insulting him has driven me into a raging fury. I need to fight you. -
I saw two bad goals but I can see how some folks may see otherwise on the second one. Also, I know this wasn't addressed at me, but frankly Osgood is asking for trolls to tear him up because he lets in goals that he's expected to save in what seems to be every game he plays.

5 points for writing the title in the voice of Dr. Zoidberg, whether intentional or otherwise.

Where would we be without Larry's expert analysis

The injury list is a freaking paragraph.

I feel like Ken and Mickey read these forums because every time some consensus opinion on someone pops up here regardless of what the greater media has been saying, they seem to mention something along the same lines within a couple days of us.

Updated, sorry for the delay and thanks ACG for covering for me. Anyway, Babs can't shelter Howard from upper-tier teams forever. The kid is noticeably more confident in net compared to the first month, and he has shown that he gets less and less flustered after letting in a soft goal (which are coming more rarely). At the very least he has earned a start against a team higher in the standings than us.

Watch out he looks pissed.

Looks like Puck Daddy thinks he has the best opportunity to win the Hobey Baker award http://ca.sports.yahoo.com/nhl/blog/puck_d...?urn=nhl,209852

I understand Howard has been playing well as of late, but are there really this few American goalies in the NHL? It seems unusual that someone with less than a full season of NHL experience is even being considered for the job. Edit: after actually reading through the article it seems that Howard has a possibility only from the opinion of the article's author, and not anyone actually making up the US Olympic roster.

Wings on pace for 105 points with a $33 million roster...
Echolalia replied to Miller Brew's topic in General
Depends on if its a guy or a girl doing the streaking... -
This year has, by far, been the craziest year to be a Wings fan with all the players we have lost, cold stars, etc etc. I have been racking my brain for weeks trying to figure out exactly what the team has done to deserve all this crap and then it hit me: someone bozo fan out there totally isn't doing their daily rituals. So fess up, which one of you is messing with the superstitions and causing all these injuries??? On the event that nobody confesses to such a heinous crime, I propose that we all double the amount of superstitious activity to make up for the bad karma of the slacker. As dangerous as it is, the only way may be to explore additional rituals before, during, and after games and hope that we don't run into something that's bad luck. Should a bad ritual possibly be discovered, it must immediately be reported so no other fans fall into it. And as I'm sure we're all aware, superstitions are very delicate things, having ties to the stars and the weather, the lifestyles of individual fans, as well as the NHL scheduling system. A good ritual one day may very well become a bad one a week later. We need to stay on top of this or we'll be paying 90 bucks a pop to watch the Griffins play at the Joe. Anyway, I've already started doing my part by not watching intermission reports. I have also started another ritual but I fear that the luck that it brings will backfire if I mention it. I have one of those feelings. I believe that it is working to an extent (as well as the player watch threads, they seem to be good luck), but we need to keep on trucking if we're going to turn the injury boat around.
-
He needs one of these threads.

Actually I haven't either, but I was hesitant to propose a GDT posting ban. Hopefully the hockey Gods let this one slide...

We better hurry before he starts demanding the big bucks

Exactly, and that, my friends, is how you debate matters online without resorting to name-calling and grammatical errors.

And I'm not saying what Bertuzzi did was right, but where you see variables that makes one more forgivable than the other I see bulls***. Its just going to come down to a matter of opinion on this one, so we'll have to agree to disagree.

I don't see how punching a player who doesn't even have their arms up do defend themselves as they skate towards the bench is face to face. They didn't square off, McCarty just sucker-punched the guy.
-
So on the event that McCarty does break that guy's neck- does he just deserve the 5 minutes for fighting? So McCarty is off the hook because it wasn't premeditated; that is, he was in the heat of the moment right after the incident happened. But then how do you justify the Lemieux attack? Wasn't there about a year time-span between Lemieux nailing Draper and McCarty getting redemption? And if he's forgiven for that attack because he told him it was coming, shouldn't Bertuzzi be forgiven because Moore also knew that Bert wanted to go after him?
