Can someone give me a sopcast address that this game is streaming under?
-
1-0 Flyers
-
Most likely because no tv station is picking the game up. If no cameras are on (or at the very least sending information out of the arena), then nobody can pick it up to stream.

This argument comes up pretty regularly it seems, and I always say that its a better comparison to look at the 2007-2008 Wings team and this years'. Having Hossa on the team last year was an anomaly that isn't supposed to happen to a team as loaded as the Wings. Even though they didn't win the Cup, t's not fair or realistic to compare that team to any team simply because cap restrictions prevent that from being a regular occurrence. When looking back 2 years from today, we had Hudler, Sammy, Drake, Kopecky, Chelios, Maltby (if he's the odd man out) and Hasek. We essentially replaced them with Leino, Williams, Bertuzzi, Eaves, Ericsson, Helm and Osgood (with Howard filling in backup). Looking at the defensive side of things, this year's team is much better than two years ago, both in terms of defensive forwards, and defensman. Offensively we might have taken a step back, but we will have to wait and see how unknowns like Leino, Bertuzzi, Eaves, and Helm work out (not to mention any added support from guys like Filppulla). Overall I wouldn't say this year's team is necessarily better than last year's or the year before, but I do think that we have just a strong a chance to win the Cup.

C'mon folks, get those votes in. I only have 14 votes so far, which just isn't going to cut it.
-
Voting is officially closed for 7th best, and voting rose a bit from the last round to 22 total votes. Iginla came in a narrow first with 9 votes (40.91%) Getzlaf came in second with 8 votes (36.36%) Kovalchuk came in third place with 4 votes (18.18%) Luongo came in 4th place with 1 vote (4.5%) 1) Ovechkin 2) Lidstrom 3) Crosby 4) Datsyuk 5) Malkin 6) Zetterberg 7) Iginla Lets get started on 8th best. Thanks to all of you who have been 'bolding' your vote, it has really helped, and remember not to vote for a player who has already placed, as you will be throwing your vote away. I'll start voting off by picking Kovalchuk for 8th best.

When's the first Red Wings preseason televised game?
-
He is totally not making my fantasy team.
-
At least he stopped the beach ball.
-
It's definitely possible. I mean those lines aren't exactly teeming with flaws.
-
How about this: he's not about chasing down the highest bidder or the team that can promise him the most minutes. He buys into the Wings philosophy.
-
It sounds like he's a team-first type of player in the same sense that Zetterberg, Lidstrom, Datsyuk, and now Leino and Ericsson seem to be. He's not about playing for the glory or the money, he's about doing what's best for the team, even if it means self sacrifice.
-
Ideally I was hoping for 30+ per round, but realistically I want to at least break 20. And with that I'll close the voting for 6th place at 20 votes even (That vote for Datsyuk was thrown out because he already placed). Zetterberg won this round with 13 votes, or 65%. Kovalchuk and Iginla came in 2nd with 2 votes each (10%) Broduer, Getzlaf, and Luongo came in third with 1 vote each (5%). 1) Ovechkin 2) Lidstrom 3) Crosby 4) Datsyuk 5) Malkin 6) Zetterberg Now to begin voting on 7th best! It will be interesting to see how everything turns out now that all the standard big names are in (I think we all can agree that the top 6 would be in the top 6 one way or another). I'll start off voting with Kovalchuk for 7th.
-
We're voting for 6th place, or best player that isn't Ovechkin, Lidstrom, Crosby, Datsyuk, or Malkin. I'm going to keep voting alive for a bit longer for this round because we currently only have 17 votes and someone who apparently gets off by trying to put others down, so you still have time to get your vote in.
-
Voting is officially over with 21 votes total. Malkin blew this one away with 17 votes, or 81% of the total votes. Zetterberg came in a close second with 2 votes (9.5%) Getzlaf and Chara came in third with one vote each (4.7%) I have to say that I did not expect Malkin to come in so late, but it seems that once Datsyuk was out of the picture, people were willing to concede that Malkin is next best. 1) Ovechkin 2) Lidstrom 3) Crosby 4) Datsyuk 5) Malkin Now for 6th best voting. Who do you think is the best player in the league not counting any of Ovechkin, Lidstrom, Crosby, Datsyuk, or Malkin? The voting is going to be a bit tough from here on out I think, but I think I'm going to throw my vote in for Kocalchuk.

Ken Hitchcock wants to make the Wings "Bleed"
Echolalia replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
I always liked him and respected him as a coach. -
Overall not much news, but this is the second article that I have read that suggests that Bertuzzi really picked up his health this offseason (the other had something along the lines of the Wings brass being impressed with Bertuzzi's condition upon taking his physical). I'm not going to get blindly optimistic that he's going to put up a 60 goal season or anything, but I'm still excited to see what he can bring with a full season of wearing the Winged Wheel. edit: sorry guys, I forgot to post the link (but awesome that you guys trust me!) http://detnews.com/article/20090902/SPORTS...-negative-press

yeah its on vs! edit: I'm sorry, I can't be this cruel.

Five things: Cap, Father Time catching up to consistent Wings
Echolalia replied to SouthernWingsFan's topic in General
This article isn't even accurate. The Wings aren't the oldest team in the league. -
Okay round 4 is over. Here's how it all tallied up: Datsyuk: 14 votes (70%) Malkin: 4 votes (20%) Zetterberg: 2 votes (10%) total of 20 votes. 1) Ovechkin 2) Lidstrom 3) Crosby 4) Datsyuk Now for round 5! Remember to bold your answer choice to make it easier to count a vote amidst all the debating, and get those votes in! The total vote count has steadily been declining! I'll vote for Malkin to start things off as 5th best player.
