The chances of this occurring aren't any less likely than any other possibility.

I was looking through some of the older threads and there used to be so many neat games that went on in the forums throughout the course of a season, related to how the Wings, nhl teams, or nhl players do. Someone more creative than I should come up with something for this year. I would have loved to participate in some of the stuff from the past.
-
A lot of it was stuff that you were involved with, actually, but after a while interest seemed to wane and eventually people stopped posting. There's so many things we could work with though. A prediction thread where you get points for predicting the score, or who scores; a sponsor thread where you pick a player before the start of each game (I assume 1st person 1st served and repicked after every game to make it fair) and collect points/penalty minutes/etc throughout the season; daily, weekly, or monthly league standings prediction threads, I don't know.

I don't do any prep, but I'm active year round. I play drop in at Western every sunday when I'm out there, and intramural both semesters. In the summers I play inline hockey and soccer (albeit soccer is less frequent).

I did, but I instinctively think of Hasek when I think of her. I shuttered. Sorry 'Loo. The person below me has a tendency to state ambiguous things online to get stuff off their chest, but nobody understands exactly what they're talking about and it isn't worth it to ask, so nobody cares.

Franzen has fought in the nhl before. He got his ass whooped.
-
If this is the case the fight may be a blessing in disguise. At least doctors are aware of it and can keep a close eye on it and hopefully prevent a stroke from happening.

In terms of points: Detroit San Jose Blackhawks Calgary Columbus Dallas Vancouver Minnesota Pittsburgh Boston Philly New Jersey Washington Buffalo Carolina NYR The East seems a lot more difficult to put a finger on than the West. Even with Dallas and Minnesota in the lineup to make the playoffs.

I don't know enough about the prospects to know where I'd sit Leino on a Calder list, but its interesting to note that the Wings still manage to get Calder candidates despite continuously picking in the second half of the first round, if at all.

I don't see him taking anything less than 5M. I was arguing more for between 5M to 7M range, most likely between what Dats and Z make.

Last year for the first time in his career Lidstrom looked human, and it wasn't a one-game occurrence. While I would still prefer Lids over any other player in the league, to say that his value isn't diminishing at this point in his career would be foolish. He's becoming more susceptible to injury, making mistakes on rushed plays, etc, like all aging veterans. He put up 59 points last year, continuing a general downward trend since 2005. This needs to be taken into consideration when negotiating a salary. Additionally, players like Datsyuk and Zetterberg and Franzen and even Leino have all took discounts for the good of the team, emulating Detroit's dedication to winning that was started by Yzerman. If Lids were to take $7M+ again next year it could come off as selfish, despite whether he deserves it or not, simply because the media almost expects our stars to take discounts at this point. Finally, for a person who has made close to $75M over the course of his career, whats the difference between $80M-$81M and $82M?

It wasn't sarcasm. I honestly didn't know he will be an RFA after this year. Good move by Holland. If he ends up developing back into his former self and some other team swoops in and invests in him, at least the Wings will be compensated for their work on him in draft picks. I agree. I was using the OP's numbers.
-
Because he wants to win?
-
If he stays healthy I don't think its out of the question.
-
He's signed as an RFA?? Well that changes everything!

You misunderstood my post completely. I was talking about how funny it was that everyone was agreeing with everyone else. Not that Lids taking this or that amount is ridiculous or he's a bad captain or whatever. That's why I said to read the first sentence of every post from the first page. The second half of the page is: I agree 100% I agree with agreed agreed I have to agree agreed While I agree agreed Go see for yourself
-
Ha i was just reintroduced to a long lost friend from highschool who happens to post here as well, thanks to this thread. How crazy
-
If Lids signs for 5.5M, and Abby and Helm take 1.5M each, that leaves the Wings about 6.5M (depending on where the cap will be) to fill in the remaining 4-5 spots.

Never tried a dinosaur egg and I'm not interested in gummis at the moment. The person below me can't wait for post-labor day

I prefer wading in rivers, actually. You get the experience of fishing as well as exploring at the same time. It's also a bit more difficult because the fish can sense your movements much easier, so you have to develop a stalking technique to get from point a to point b. Fishing or hunting

Haha seriously. Go back and read the first sentence of every post on the first page. Or even the first five words. You'll laugh.

I've laughed out loud on three different occasions while reading this thread. Way to go Huds, get that ass! And be sure to use some of that $5M to check out any suspicious rashes or scabs in the morning. Have fun over there lil guy!

What's with all the agreeing? This isn't LGW-like.

I don't care whether VS or NBC picks our games up so long as they aren't bumped to FSN+

Nope The person below me loves first person shooters
