No, but I have/am dating an ex marching band performer. fwiw the cheerleaders in our school were quite pompous. the person below me has forgotten to add a 'the person below me'

He's older and slower than when we had him, and has always been something of a defensive liability. There was also a great deal of talk about him and Babcock not getting along because of his tendency to only play on one side of the puck, so even if the Wings do want him (which we don't) Shanny probably won't want to return if Babs is still behind the bench.

Holland "Not Optimistic" about re-signing Hossa
Echolalia replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
It would seem Hossa is interested in checking out what other teams have to offer, yet because we haven't traded away his rights yet, it would seem he hasn't completely thrown the offer out the window yet. I imagine he will go to free agency knowing that our offer is still up, and compare the offers and past success from teams that will court him to what the Wings can provide. Who knows? Maybe the only competitive teams can offer him less than we can, and maybe the bad teams are going to be the only ones that offer him what he wants. -
Cookie. Running a marathon for a charity as well as to shed a couple pounds, but after hitting the 10 mile end point you are told that the charity is actually "Klan kids for cancer" and you just raised 10 dollars per mile, yet you don't feel all that bad because you're in better shape and you beat your friend who also ran the course by 6 minutes, thus also winning a bet for 50 dollars, or a bag of croutons?

It has more of a creamy-peach tone to me The person below me has skydived (skydove?) before

Pop. Having a bad day at work while running 45 minutes behind schedule but having a lunch break or having a decent day at work while running an hour and a half behind schedule but with no lunch break. (job includes customer service so being behind = bad)

Holland "Not Optimistic" about re-signing Hossa
Echolalia replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
I love that the Wings' two options are having a team with Hossa and good depth vs having a team with no Hossa and great depth. I don't even care what happens, we will still be competing for the Cup next April as one of the favorites regardless of what Holland does. -
PM, unless we're talking pleural. Super subtle jokes that no one will ever get, or super obvious jokes that are slightly obnoxious.

What? I have no clue what half the things in here are. Arlo. The UP or LP

I don't think its that impossible that neither Hudler nor Hossa end up here next year. Hossa chases after his longterm high price salary somewhere that can actually afford us (relatively likely), and Hudler gets an offer from another team that the Wings can't match, or would be stupid to match (ala Dustin Penner).

Not that I'm arguing your point or anything, but Helm made Nieds look like he belonged in a nursing home when he blew past him in the playoffs.

Ottawa Sun: Wings have made lucrative long term offer to Hossa
Echolalia replied to 40#1Fan's topic in General
That is definitely the dilemma that everyone has running through their head right now. The first thing worth mentioning is that 34-40 year old players are still capable of producing, as well as mentoring. They won't be putting up 80-100 pts a season, but they will contribute. Secondly, Datsyuk is a free agent in 6 years, so if he re-signs, he won't be taking 6M away from the cap, but rather 2-3M, depending on his performance. That presently leaves Z and Franzen for 11.5 M off our cap 10 years down the road and potentially Hossa for about 15M total, which is a bit, but not substantially capable of crippling our team. We also have no idea where the salary cap will be 10+ years from now. In 2006 the cap was at 39M. Now, nobody is expecting the rate of growth to continue at that rate for 10+ years, but the league is still tinkering with the numbers to find the ideal range (we're still on the up trend) and inflation is all but certain for the future. 15M off a salary cap of 65M isn't nearly as bad as 15M off a cap of 55M, although inflation will certainly include players' salaries as well. In any event, I see Holland retiring sometime before the Zetterberg contract is up, and right now he is just putting the pieces together to ensure that the Wings will be the absolute best they can be while he is still in office. Who knows if he isn't worried about what happens after that. -
Ms. Gladys Ellington to Kenny?

So has the salary cap been announced yet? I find it interesting that Holland allegedly offered Hossa a contract before the final cap numbers are announced, although I'm sure GM's would get the word before fans. -
Strawberry. I hate oranges, but oddly love orange juice. Wake boarding or tubing

No actually I'm starting to get tired of Journey, although I do love when the Joe rocks out to that song. The person below me often projects their current situation onto the person below them in person-below-me format.

I just ruined my pants, thanks a lot. But seriously, I really like the idea of a Neil + Helm + Leino lineup. Think of Helm's speed and his tendency to force turnovers, plus Neil's energy to contribute down low, and a potential scorer in Leino who knows how to capitalize on said turnovers and make plays.

And so it begins. -
I think they know quite well what they're doing. What they're doing just doesn't have anything to do with the well-being of Detroit.

No kidding. It's amazing the city has gotten as far as it has, in spite of the city officials.

Another glorious decision by fearless NBCHL

Yeah, Chicago is quickly becoming my backup team to root for. Unfortunately they're in the same division as us and I promised myself I wouldn't get close...

Who's gonna stick up for Hudler now??
