One game winning goal in a game that wasn't even close isn't significant. Where was he in Game 1 or 2 or 3 or 5 or 6? Either in the box or on the bench while the rest of his team contributes, or on the ice allowing the Wings to score. There aren't any other options. It's amazing how you base 90% of your arguments on what you hope to happen, and not so much actual facts.

I thought we were classy?

Actually Hossa has been more effective against your Pens than Crosby has against Detroit, not to mention he gets paid 1.5M less than Crosby. They both only have 3 points, but Hossa has been more effective defensively (+1), while Crosby has been something of a defensive liability (-3!!). Also, Hossa isn't a captain, nor an alternate captain, so while the Wings do expect more out of him, it looks a lot worse when the boy with the C is drifting through the postseason sitting on the shoulders of his team. As for Pavel, I don't know if you have been paying attention, but neither of your boys Crosby or Malkin have registered a point since his return, which is unusual, because I couldn't go anywhere online after game 4 without hearing how Crosby and Malkin are officially unstoppable and the Wings are too tired and injured to keep them off the scoresheet anymore. Datsyuk is also at a point per game pace as of right now against the Pens, which is pretty good for someone who is playing on a bum foot (in fact, he's almost caught up with Crosby for points, in 1/3 the amount of games played for the finals). He also generated a handful of scoring chances for the likes of Zetterberg and Cleary in the loss last night, that unfortunately they couldn't capitalize on. And when it comes down to Game 7, neither Sid nor Hossa are going to get on the scoresheet. Why? Because they've been playing like s*** the entire series and are allowing the other team to out-perform them. But the difference here is Hossa isn't one of two guys the Wings rely on to win games. We would be in the finals regardless of whether Hossa was a wing or not. Crosby is the Pens captain, and like I said earlier, when his team needs him the most, he suddenly disappears from the score sheet.

Crosby will show up in Game 2, just you wait! Crosby will show up in Game 3 just you wait! Crosby will show up in Game 4 just you wait! What did I tell you, now that Crosby has finally scored, he'll be unstoppable in Game 5! Lucky break, the Pens didn't show up tonight, but Crosby will show up in Game 6 just you wait! Both of these guys will show up and make an impact in Game 7!

I wonder why they're all becoming free agents

Go Wings!!

I'll give you the first Zetterberg save should have been a penalty shot, but the second was Crosby being a retard and shooting it into Zetterberg's body instead of lifting the puck into an empty net. Zetterberg didn't intentionally cover the puck, it was shot into him after he had already fell into the crease.

Correction? "He is angry that they are stuck with a bunch of stiffs such as Gomez, which NO ONE will want on their cap-hit, and are doomed to be a weak team for the next couple years.

How will this Cup series be remembered outside of Detroit
Echolalia replied to thegreat66's topic in General
I think everyone outside of Detroit and Pittsburgh has the Wings and Pens on their s***-list. -
Some Red Wings that I have really grown to respect in this series
Echolalia replied to Psychlone's topic in General
This year's Helm is last year's Franzen in terms of energy instead of goals. I always think of the Adolf Hitler's reaction to the Wings sweeping the Avs from last year and how he asks "where the hell did this guy Franzen come from??!" I always thought the same thing as Hitler in regards to last year, and I'm doing it again with Helm now. -
You know, Scuderi, what with the inevitability that the Wings will be moving some folks around this summer, howsabouts you and I get together and talk about a contract possibility over lunch? Great. Have your people call my people.

That's almost as crazy as Maltby

I don't know about conspiracies or anything, but the refs had been dismal for both sides the entire series. I don't think I have ever seen a series officiated so poorly in my life. Zetterberg's glove save, Malkin's rescinded suspension, countless noncalls, and a number of the calls were late whistles, quick whistles on free pucks, etc. Just about every game a new officiating catastrophe occurs, yet most of the Wings and Pens fans can at least admit that when they lose its because of a lack of effort, not poor officiating. Apparently the Rangers fans are a different story.

Judging by the point totals, Sid wants it just as bad as no-show Hossa.

After all the stress this postseason is causing me (two game 7's!!!) I'm ready for a break myself. the person below me can't believe what they just read
-
Well the good news is the Wings will have a five day rest between the last game they played and Friday.
-
Hossa. He has had all the opportunities he's needed to put this one away, and Friday is officially his last opportunity to capitalize.
-
I don't know what game you guys were watching, but the Wings were outplayed cleanly through the first 40 minutes, and consistently turned pucks over, rushed plays, and failed to pounce on rebounds (aside from Drapes goal).

Just have Ken Holland hand it off to Lids. Last I checked it was still in our possession

You also need to expect that there's a probability that he'll not sign with you when he says he wants to see what's on the market July 1st. You seem to be mistaking "first choice" with "only choice, I promise."

The Unofficial "It's 4.5 hours to game time, and I can't

It's 4.5 hours to game time, and I can't read what you typed. -
"Just wants to be sure" sounds exactly like a guy who is thinking of signing elsewhere. That's a fair warning as any to Shero that he plans on talking to some other teams. In fact, if I was GM, I would think it would be my responsibility to have a back up plan or two on the case that Hossa does leave, beacuse, you know, he did just state he wants to see what's on the table.
