I was thinking the same thing -
The Wings don't follow statistics, they make them

Chicago Columnist: Blackhawks should want no part of Wings
Echolalia replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
"They aren’t prone to doing the dumb things that Calgary and Vancouver pulled in the first two rounds." I love this -
I have been to a handful of nhl games, all at the Joe. The person below me prefers to type out 'the person below me' to TPBM

I'm glad I'm not the only one who knows they exist

It sounds more like the opinion of the journalist that Rafalski will play tonight, and not so much the view of a professional. Still, I can't help but be excited.

Alternate 2008 Finals: Pittsburgh Penguins vs Detroit Red Wings
Echolalia replied to xtrememachine1's topic in General
So you think the Wings would've won in 5 had the Pens had Ovechkin instead of a nonproducing (and allegedly sick) Malkin, instead of 6? -

i don't ever get free anything, nor to I ever successfully "land" in any aspect of the word. The person below me is geographically below me (kalamazoo)

I think they have more depth than the Ducks do, and as a result it'll also take more to wear them down. In any event, the Wings should be able to exploit their team's youth and force them to make mistakes that our forwards can capitalize on. I expect the series to take no more than 5 games, should we get to the WCF

Rafalski practices for the first time in 12 days
Echolalia replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
Bring in Rafalski but monitor his ice time. The Wings have proven they can handle the Ducks without him, so even if he only gets 10-12 minutes tomorrow, it will still be an upgrade, plus Rafalski will be able to ween into playoff style a bit slowly instead of jumping right into 22 minutes a night. -
Marta. George Michael or Gob

Don't say I didn't warn you. Them Black Aces are nothing but the worst kind of trouble

I can't keep this up, guys. I'm getting carpal tunnel

But if you're not careful they're bust a cap!!

They're a rowdy towdy bunch of men on choppers that ride into town on a full moon and flask full of whiskey. You don't want to be associating yourself with those bunch because they're nothing but trouble.

The direction didn't change much if he did touch it. I still think its Franzen's.

He gets a lifetime supply of Hot-n-ready, something that Illitch gives out very rarely.

If Hossa were to stay, there's no way the Wings would be able to keep Hudler or Sammuelson (barring any significant trading), and I assume they would be replaced by Leino and Helm. If Hossa were to leave, the Wings would be able to afford raises for both Huds (est. about 3M) and Sammy (est. about 2.5 or slightly larger), have Leino or Helm come in to fill in the hole on forward, and have some money left over for the deadline or a back-up better than Howard. Essentially we're looking at either keeping the top two lines of Zetterberg Datsyuk Homer Hossa Franzen Filppulla and desecrating the third line into Helm Leino Cleary Or changing the second line into Hudler/Sammy Franzen Filppulla and third line into Sammy/Hudler Leino/Helm Cleary Personally I trust that Helm is as nhl ready as he is going to be, and Leino looked good when called up. I think keeping Hossa would be better for the team, as much as it pains me to see Sammy and especially Hudler leave (compensatory, though). I would rather have 2 1st lines, and a marginal 3rd line than 1 first line and 2 second lines.

I don't think there's a difference at all when any team cries conspiracy or complains of ref bias. The Ducks can complain about Kronner leaving his feet on many of his big hits, or that the Wings got away with too many men on the ice tonight in the midst of us applying pressure just as easily as we can complain about the disallowed goal by Hossa, and both sides have a valid argument, but neither side can effectively prove based solely on that information that the refs are out to get them.

The difference is irrelevant. Each game that the Wings lost, they deserved to lose because they were outplayed for the majority of the game, regardless of whether anyone wants to count Hossa's goal or not. After the Wings lose, fans look to environmental factors for the reason why their team didn't win, and tend to avoid simply saying "we sucked." Many people on LGW did this for games 2 and 3, and now the Ducks forum is doing it for 4 and 5.
