I'm beginning to wonder how much skill the Wings are actually going to end up losing this offseason. With kids like Ericcson, Helm, Leino, Abdelkader, and Meech all waiting to fill in someone's role, the future of the Wings looks a lot brighter than a lot of people think. Defensively I'm confident the Wings will be better next year than the previous two. With Chelios more likely to be gone than ever, and Ericsson playing at least as good as half our defensive lineup, I expect to see Lebda or Lilja traded. Offensively the Wings are looking at a lineup that consists of Hudler, Sammuelson, and some combination of Leino Helm or Kopecky, or Hossa and some combination of Leino Helm or Kopecky. Either way that's a pretty solid lineup.

Darren Helm went to Holmstrom after he scored and said "thanks for not being on the ice"

Every teams' forums post that kind of stuff when they're losing. Look back a couple days and you'll read it here, specifically regarding game 3.

I don't know, I was thinking the scoring drought is starting to get to him and he'd developing a tendency to rush the play, but I did notice him develop some chances out there at least.
-
I noticed this also. I was wondering if he was battling an injury or something, because I don't typically remember him being this bad.

hahaha Larry Murphy! *clap clap clap-clap-clap*

Looks like Wisniewski will be playing, and Hiller will be starting

We are and they are indeed

Ken Holland said in an interview that there is a possibility that Rafalki and Draper will be back for Game 6. Hearing it from Holland's mouth is an improvement of hearing optimistic-Babcock say it, at least, but who knows when we'll see them.

Apparently Getzlaf was feeling under the weather last game, and didn't practice today. Wisniewski did practice today and has a 50% chance of being in the lineup tomorrow. http://ducks.freedomblogging.com/ If the Wings can hold them off tomorrow and go into game 6 ideally with Rafalski and Draper, they'll be in great shape.

Its not his chest I'm worried about

Wait today is mother's day???

Wow the Wings have an entire Stanley Cup championship worth of victories just on Quennville.
-
Either team will be easier than Anaheim, especially if the Wings have Rafalski back. I don't see the Wings going more than 5 games to Vancouver or Chicago.

Its weird to think that there's actually at least another game to be played after this one. With tying the series back up and the two day break, I'm in the Game 7 mindset. When's the last time the Wings were in a Game 7? Against the Avs?

I never thought this kid was steal-a-series material, let alone steal-a-game material. Rather, I think Hiller is more a product of the phenominal defense in front of him who prevent rebounds from going to Wings, and keep our scorers to the perimeter and apply pressure quickly. If you look at the goals that the Wings have scored on Hiller, they aren't your typical playoff-style goals. They're mostly shots from the slot or the perimeter that just beat him cleanly. Giguere, however, scares me. He's shown in the past that he knows how to play goalie (or at least he knows how position his massive pads to not make so many rookie mistakes), and he's certainly shown that he can steal a series. Now that it's a best of three series, all he really needs to do is steal a game and it could be over. Sure its a risky move for Carlyle, because Giguere has had a ton of personal stuff going on in his life that's affected his game, but he's also had a break to mentally take care of some stuff, and the playoffs are a different beast than the regular season. Its for these reasons that I would rather the Wings take on a fresh, albeit rookie Hiller over a rusty, yet proven Giguere. Thoughts?

I feel like I've done my share of posting on here

just about 1/4 the way there

I read that he will be playing tomorrow. Hopefully just resting a sore muscle or something minor.

It better be on in Kalamazoo
