Actually I beat you both by a couple weeks. Anyway, right now all teams from the Central are still in the playoffs, with every playoff contending team below them having an equal amount of games played. What makes it even more probable that they will all still be here 7-8 games from now is the fact that even though there is a number of intradivisonal games in the Central, Anaheim Edmonton and Minnesota each have a pretty rough schedule ahead of them. Anaheim: at Edmonton (another playoff contender outside the bubble) at Vancouver at San Jose (awesome for Wings fans) vs San Jose (back to back nights is even better) vs Dallas at Phoenix Edmonton: vs Anaheim (see above) vs San Jose (awesome for Wings fans, also) vs Vancouver vs LA vs Calgary at Calgary (home and home) Minnesota: vs Vancouver vs Calgary at Detroit (this should cancel out the wins that the Wings pick up vs Central opponents ) vs Dallas vs Nashville at Columbus Columbus, Nashville, and St. Louis all have intradivision games coming up, but they may very well be able to lose at least one each, assuming neither of the above teams is flawless in their fairly difficult schedules. They've tended to all go to OT anyway, so hopefully that trend continues.

The road to success is always under construction.
Echolalia replied to interminded's topic in General
So you would rather play a goalie with past success but current failure than a goalie with current success and past failure, based off of one game? Oh, and that one game of failure (three years ago, by the way); Conklin came in to replace an injured Roloson, who had already let in 4 goals. Conklin only faced three shots, and the one goal that went in was because of a bad clearing attempt on his part. The 10 GAA and .667 save percentage is a bit skewed when you only play the last part of an already ugly game. -
Yeah its totally amazing that when someone is doing good nobody complains, but then when the do bad, people start to complain. How backwards!

Who wants to hook me up with the Sharks feed?

The Lilja statistic is quite deceiving.

That is really funny. But they're holding up the wrong amount of fingers, seeing as how the Pens came in second and all.

http://imagecache.allposters.com/images/pi...Ice-Posters.jpg is this the photo? I can see two people near the top left corner and it looks kind of like the one on the left has two hands up facing the camera, but its too low res to know if that person is flicking the camera off or not.

This is something the Wings needed. They have been playing half-assed pretty sporadically this month, and I can't think of a better team to get shut out to seven games away from the playoffs than the Islanders. Take a lesson away from this one and recollect when you get lazy in the playoffs.

Nope. Dave Matthews band The person below me is the person above me

Do shootout goals count on a team's goals for/goals against? In other words, will the Sharks have 6 goals against added to their yearly total tonight (possible tie breaker between the Wings and Sharks is better goal differential, thus the question.), or just five?

Can't argue with facts

So then I guess the answer to my question would be no, then.

I have a couple black friends who sometimes hook me up the person below me will hook me up with DMB tickets this summer

Grimes, phone!

I don't understand the whole mono thing with Mason. I'm under the impression that if you get mono, physical activities can rupture your spleen.

For every penalty minute McCarty gets Leino will get a point.

I definitely can appreciate that, but I still think Datsyuk is severely underrated, even though people are starting to whisper his name here and there. It's not that he's the absolute best in a single category, its that his name comes up for a candidate for the best in every category

I don't suppose anyone knows of any subsequent tie-breakers after goal differential? Although its unlikely, there is a greater possibility now than ever before (mostly due to parity) that some pair will remain tied throughout all tiebreakers given at nhl.com. Especially with the 6-10th place logjam. After 82 games played: 1) the greater number of games won 2) the greater number of points earned between the two teams 3) better goal differential Detroit and San Jose, for instance, would not be able to rely on #2, as the series was split equally. The Wings potentially have the greater number of games won, but it's close enough to where it can't be assumed that it definitely won't happen, and goal differential is surprisingly close, all things considered. So what happens on the off chance that it happens?

The worst part about this scenario is who is currently shutting the Wings out

Great pinch by Ericcson. I cannot wait for this kid to be a full time nhler. Every game I find a new reason to like him.

Hossa isn't going to go anywhere due to goaltending. Even with the statically worst goaltender in the league, the Wings are still favorites to win the cup.

I do agree that Kopecky could potentially be the Wings best option to replace Franzen, however I think Kopecky has some large strides to make with his hands as well as his ability to protect the puck. If he can get past those two obstacles, he'll be a good enough replacement in my book. As far as Leino not having Hudler's defensive or playmaking skills, that may or may not be true; I haven't really seen him play too much to provide an accurate representation, however, in terms of output, I think Leino is capable of putting up as many points (with little leeway due to it being his rookie season) as Hudler, and that's what I was referring to in that he would be better apt to replace Hudler than Franzen (I don't think he'll be replacing Sammy's role because Sammy plays the point on the powerplay, and I see Sammy having a better chance to return next year due to reasons previously stated). Defensive play is something that our team is insistent upon, and if Babcock and Holland and co. want him be a cornerstone of the future of the franchise, he'll be going through some extensive drills to quicken him up and improve his back check. At that point its up to him on how defensive he wants to be.
-
There's definitely room for improvement, but he's also played in a dozen nhl games, so its expected. But why I think Hudler is the relevant choice is because out of all the free agents, I personally think Hudler has the smallest chance of coming back next year due largely to his RFA status. He's the only free agent the Wings organization can get something for. Outside of Franzen and Hossa, Hudler has the potential for the biggest pay raise out of all our free agents as well. Getting rid of Franzen and Hudler could potentially pay for Hossa, or conversely, getting rid of Hossa and Hudler could potentially pay for Franzen.
