For a goal scorer I was definitely impressed. He got some punches in, defended himself.

The kid looked solid tonight. Smart penalty kill, created a couple scoring chances, threw the body around.

While I agree with you that its lame to jeer at someone else's injury, I would hate it if Tootoo was a Wing, simply for the whole Robidas incident. I can't see past that, despite how effective Tootoo is on the ice.

Datsyuk recently had a pretty entertaining interview. You should check that out.

Don't touch my dreams with your dirty hands

"Mike Babcock would appear golden here, but behind the scenes there has been some disagreement over personnel and grumbling over how ice time has been doled out to some veterans. It’s water under the bridge for now." ala Power Rankings ala McKeon ala Yahoo Sports (this week's topic is team coaches, if you didn't get that)

It doesn't take a lot to get him to turtle these days, it seems. Our boys will be fine. Besides, were the champions of fighting behind refs. He's playing right into our style.

If I was in the warroom and that play rested on my decision, even if it went in I'd be like "Man. Vancouver sure is going to be pissed when we say this one's no goal."
-
God I hope not. He is so significant to our playoff chances its not even funny.

That would've been kinda humorous if it wasn't such a frickin' subtle change. I combed through my own words for about 30 seconds looking for what you 'fixed', and by then the build up was totally gone. I'm disappointed.

Babcock: "For every goal you let in on the powerplay, I'm sitting Datsyuk for five minutes." problem solved.

I have no strong feelings one way or the other on this issue, but I will admit that Osgood does seem to be turning a corner, albeit slowly. At the very least he has at least one great save for every bad goal he lets in now, which is definitely an improvement over anything earlier than three weeks ago.

Definitely. Bob Rouse Mikael Sammuelson Robert Lang Cory Cross Steve Yzerman

He doesn't necessarily have to sign for 6M, so long as the average caphit of the entire contract is around 6M. I also expect that Hossa's average caphit will be closer to Datsyuk's 6.7 than Zetterberg's 6.2.
-
I really like the Fillpulla Hossa Leino line, and I would love to see Franzen on a line with Dats and Zetterberg, but for some reason I have a hard time seeing chemistry occur between those three.

I was looking over my potential dream cap at home and ran into a question that I was hoping someone who is more knowledgeable of the subject could help me out on: Some of the players we have signed who currently play in GR have contracts for a number of years beyond this one (Abdelkader is signed through next year, Helm is signed through next year, etc). If these guys come up to play with us for a full 82 games next year as Red Wings and not call-ups, do we take the average cap of their entire contract's salary off the team's cap, or just what they earn next year? Ex: Helm's current contract is .663M for 07/08, .630M for 08/09, .500M for 09/10. If he made the team next year and played the entire season, would his cap hit for next year be (.663+.630+.500)/3=.597M, or would it be .500M, as that's the only year he played full time as a Wing? Or would we have to take the average of the caphits against the Wings per year that he was called up as (.238M for 08/09 +.500M for 09/10+ whatever his cap hit was last year)/3 years = total caphit for 09/10 Any help would be much appreciated, and sorry if I worded this confusingly.
-
Well I actually haven't really come up with anything, rather I noticed we had a couple GR salaries in the system and was curious as to how it actually worked.

If Holland can manage Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Hossa, and Broduer under a single cap, it wouldn't even matter who filled in the other positions. Good God. There's no way Broduer would want to come here, though. The Devils are solid and that's home.

That second period was solid. I wouldn't be surprised if Babs told them that the Sharks finally lost in regulation, and this game is their chance to close the gap.

This is what we need to see from Ozzy

Here we go!

I know sopcast was threatened to be sued. I'm assuming the nhl just took a wide sweep at all the sites that were streaming for free.

San Jose is 2 minutes away from losing in regulation, but wait! Powerplay for them. Now taking bets that they'll force OT.

Please explain. The replay clearly shows Osgood stopping to puck for Rafalski, then as Raffi was going to play it, Osgood pokes the puck away at the last second, and of course it bounces to an Av.
