Even with the horrible road trip they have, this kind of play from the Stanley Cup champions isn't too impressive. They managed a split between LA (who was also a victim of traveling halfway around the world), 1 point from the Wings (and if you check out the shot total, they're lucky getting away even with just a point), and now they're getting mopped up by the Bluejackets of all teams. Its a long way back to the playoffs

I'm calling it a draw. Drake got some good punches in, probably would've taken Perry out if he didn't have his helmet on. Perry got some good punches in too, and eventually the takedown, but Drake wins the "real fight" category. No helmet, no hair pulling.

I never liked the idea of collectively making a nickname for someone just to have a nickname. These things usually just evolve themselves. Anyway, Dallas Drake is a pretty sweet name, but if anything I think I'd just call him Drake-o

I have do disagree with you on that. They were the hottest team to close out the regular season last year, and ended up only one game out of the playoffs, which was in oddity in itself when you have 95 points but fail to make the playoffs. They have a lot of young talent thats just coming into their own. The only thing that they don't have going for them is goal tending.

I thought we already had a thread about this? Anyway, the plan for Grigs is to put him in Grand Rapids so he can adjust more quickly to North American style hockey. If the wings put him on the roster, he would be a 13th forward and get so little ice-time it would hardly help him adjust. Once hes meshed in well enough with our style of play, the Wings will most likely bring him up to the "majors".

For as unsure as he seems out there, he really knows how to be in position. I saw him wide open on breaks and whatnot, usually within 10 15 feet of the net

I'm confident with our roster we will have very little problem getting to the playoffs (or more specifically the trade deadline). I'll worry about getting some more scoring power then, when we'll actually be needing it.

As much as I love the Joe and as many experiences I've had in it, I really think its time to move on. The seats are uncomfortable and cramped (I'm ALWAYS kneeing the guy's head/back in front of me), there's no good places to eat or walk around, the bathrooms couldn't be any worse (not to mention the overall lack of them), and Cobo needs the extra room. The Wings are one of the most successful teams in nhl history, let alone in the past 15 years; we really owe it to ourselves.

Its kinda ironic that the defensman we got to replace Schneider got injured only days after Schneider himself gets injured.
