Heres the deal: The Wings we're arguably the better team in the past three games and we only walked away once with a win. The Ducks have, despite their mediocre playing, unleashed a Detroit team's fury, now being up against the wall. We're going to come out HARD in the 6th game, overwhelmingly hard. Nobody has seen a desperate Red Wing team this year, and I'm confident that anyone who does won't last long. Expect the Ducks' all-star Lady Luck to be hit hard and KOed for the rest of the series. And when we get a lead, don't expect us to relent.

Maybe its because Lidstrom is on the ice, and we can actually compare him to what a Norris defensman is really all about
-
I honestly don't even know why there are three candidates for the Norris. Lidstrom is in his own league; especially after Pronger's suspension.
-
I'm actually pretty disappointed in his play. He turns the puck over too often, and although he has scored two goals in the past two games, I have the terrible feeling thats an irregularity based on his style of play of late. Bottom line, I think he can push himself more, because when I see him skating out there, he doesn't look hungry for a cup at all.
-
Where we stand now is that each team has won a game apiece despite being outplayed, and each team has earned one game apiece by outplaying the other team. As much as I'd like to think that 5-0 victory was Wings A game vs Ducks A game, it just isn't the case. They didn't show up to play that one, and unfortunately in game 2, we did. I would love for us to win the next two, but I'm really concerned. They're riding on all the momentum they can handle, having beat us without their greatest player to even the series. I have no predictions for any of the games left in this series, but my faith is in the wings.

It wasn't Babcock's fault. The only thing I would've wanted him to do differently is call a timeout towards the last minute or so in the game to settle the team down and come up with a plan. Otherwise he did just fine. Also, Giguere by no means was outstanding. I think he made one save against Filpula that would've been considered good, but otherwise he just fell to his knees and let every shot fall into his pads. What I believed lost this game for us was our terrible 5-3 powerplays that we couldn't take advantage of and our inability to get to rebounds.

WCF Game 4 GDT (5/17): Red Wings @ Ducks - 9 PM ET

God is it 9:00 yet?? -
Dan Cleary because his grittyness and heart will lead the way for the rest of the wings to keep the pressure coming. Hes going to get a goal tonight, also.
-
I don't think it matters whos in net. Neither of their goalies are capable of stealing a game against the wings, as both of them rely on their defense too much. With Pronger out, Babs better make the top game plan to be to overwhelm their defense. Rush them to the corners, make them turn the puck over, play a physical (yet clean) game and circle the crease like a shark wing. As long as we don't let Pronger's absence and the overwhelming ass-whooping get to our heads, we should be able to take this one.

WCF Game 4 GDT (5/17): Red Wings @ Ducks - 9 PM ET

3-2 wings. Despite Pronger being out of the lineup, game 4 will be extremely difficult and close. Datsyuk, Lang, and Quincy will each score -
If players are going to want to be on a playoff contending team, they're going to have to put their salary last so their team can afford to be a playoff contending team. If all of our "underpaid" players wanted heaps of money that isn't realistic with a salary cap, they will never be on a top-notch team.
-
No kidding. I think the key to this next game is pressure and physicality on their defense. Force them to get tired, force them to turn the puck over. Big bad Prongy isn't there to save them anymore.

http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/rumors/post/Yz...F?urn=nhl,32622 I know this thread was about dead when I found this, but I know people we're curious as to where Yzerman stood, and I didn't think the link was worthy of starting a whole new thread, so I just found this one. Anyway, he pretty much says that hes not ready to commit to a GM life
-
I agree wholeheartedly, but the Wings really seem to have bad luck with goons this postseason. The only 'goon team' I can think of that we didn't play so far is Nashville.
-
With Pronger out, we need to DRIVE THEIR NET HARD in game 4. Bertuzzi, Franzen, Homer, and even Kopezski(sp?) Lets hope game 3 was the turning point in this series
-
Well Hasek got the first star from nhl.com, to put him in a first place tie with Luongo
-
We cannot let up in game 4. They're going to be pissed we walked all over them at home. I predict the next game will be the toughest yet.
-
They were litering the ice at the end of the game too. Some guy had to come on the pa and remind them not to throw objects onto the ice
-
Holy s*** hes back Suspensions still better ensue
-
I really hope Babcock stirs up some s*** in the post game interviews and calls all these goons we've seen in the postseason out. Iginla, Phaneuf, Niedermayer, Pronger, all of them. Its the same s*** over and over, we begin to win fair and square, some ***** gets pissed off and hurts our team severely. We get the injury, they get a 5 minute penalty and an unjust suspension. Someone really needs to bring this situation up front and center, and I really hope Babcock brings these issues up in one way or another. At least so it gets to Bettman.
-
Bertuzzi's real purpose has just been revealed
-
Where did you find that? Preferably a link if you can, please
-
I'm fairly certain he has a concussion. His eyes we're glazed, he was totally out of it. Honestly I think theres about a 5% chance that he'll be in game 4. Or 5 and 6 for that matter.
-
ugh, I'm actually taking this as bad news if this is the first time hes been able to skate on his own. If we get to the SCFs and it goes past 5 games, then maybe, just maybe he'll get some ice time, but I think we should just appreciate how solid Quincy has been so far and look forward to that in the next couple games.

It seems we have found Anaheim's achilles' heel Both of our even strength goals (in game 3 as of yet) have been produced when the center drives to the net to distract the off defensman. The winger with the puck passes across ice (not to the center) to the unnoticed winger on the far side. Not to take away from Anaheim's defense at all, because technically its the forward's job to take the third man, but it may be the key to winning the series, (or at least enough games to clinch the series before they catch on )
