I personally think that was an ugly game for us. Especially Bertuzzi, Calder, Lang, and Chelios. We really didn't get that many great chances on net, and I would even argue that both goals we scored wouldn't even be considered scoring chances. Yes part of that is because of penalty killing, but before everyone starts whining about how bad the refs sucked, let me point out that they did make a handful of reasonable calls, and for the most part its our own fault that these calls were made; Anaheim was winning the small battles in the corners and in front of the net and forcing us to take the penalty. There were too many bad attempts at clearing the zone, and an equal amount of bad passes/turnovers. The good news is that our first line and our defensman really came to play tonight, and fortunately thats all we needed for the win.

He did play great, although I really would've liked to see him shoot that puck instead of pass it to Zetterberg for the one-timer

Wings win 4-2 Franzen, Homer, Zetterberg, Cleary MacDonald, Selane

Haha Anaheim! Clearly your plankton prefer Detroit to win!!!

I said at the beginning of the playoffs that the Sharks had the biggest chance of taking our chances away (imo), and I still believe that. I consider Anaheim another Sharks team, with a weaker offensive lineup, and a more solid goalie (I don't care what any of you say, Nabby was hardly playing like a #1 should play). So logically it should be more difficult for us to score, but at the same time, I don't think we're going to have as hard a time in our zone. We have 4 solid offensive lines that keep surprising us (every single player is contributing offensively to an extent), and thats sure to continue into the next round. With that said, I still believe this is going to be a heck of a series, once again going to 6 or 7 games. x factors being Bertuzzi and Jeguire, If Bert plays in his top form our collective offense will be too much for 5 Norris candidates to handle, and Jeguire for the obvious reasons.

Holy cow people are freaking out. I'm happy for Shanny, don't get me wrong, and I really, honestly don't care where he plays. I have to admit though, the real reason why I posted this was because of the paragraph on Crosby (anyone who remembers any of my posts will remember a significant amount of pointless Crosby bashing), but Shanahan is the real topic of the article, and thus I posted the topic about him, and trust me, when I say "Good riddance ya loonie" I mean it in the best possible way (as a matter of fact its a quote from Toy Story, which is the best possible movie).

As a wings fan I reserve the right to bad-mouth any big-name player that decides against playing for the Wings.
-
I really hope the Sabres loose this series, but the Sens seem more intimidating for the wings

Toronto will always be a rival, be it in the East or West.

People can be as cocky as they want, so long as they keep in mind that we're only 50% through the playoffs, and the teams only get harder from here on out.

http://www.thefeeder.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=7412 apparently sharks fans agree with us

hah buy that man a beer and he'll give you 110%

He has 4 points so far in the post season (1 G 3 A) That leaves 6 people on our team with more points, which I don't think is that bad at all, especially because 1) we aren't relying on him to be a top scorer, but rather a big body that can win battles and bring some size up front and 2) He missed the entire regular season

I think coasting to the cup is an overstatement, but they definitely have had the easiest path so far. Regardless, both San Jose and Detroit can take them out; I'm fairly confident in that. So don't expect them to get 4 more. Or 3 more for that matter. They're at the end of the rope.

Lidstrom Schneider Markov Lebda Kronwall Quincy Lilja Chelios I say trade Lilja. Hes playing great this post season which might boost his asking price, and I don't think this charade will last
-
Cleary, just cuz I think he can make the most of the word 'domination'
-
I just noticed Lebda was taken off the injured list on yahoo sports. Did anyone hear if he was cleared to play game 3?
-
So who will be the one to replace him?
-
there was a thread about this a couple weeks ago. i think the verdict was that if you're caught they escort you from your seat and give you a slap on the wrist, then let you go back to watch the game. im not sure though, and by all means get that thing on the ice

I think you're all crazy. Maltby is much better than you're all making him out to be. Hes a solid defensive forward, rarely makes mistakes, he knows how to get under the opponent's skin better than anyone, and even though he's kinda small, he can handle tough hits, and doesn't mind dishing them out. Detroit is based on tight defense, and its people like him that give a great contribution from the forwards. Yes, the wings need power forwards more than anything else right now, but the price is too steep for us to sign another PF and keep our team in tact. Maltby is definitely NOT a power forward, but hes more aggressive than many of the other forwards. That and hes a good PKer Besides, when has Ken Holland steered this team wrong?
-
Thats cuz hes such a badass.

fix'd But seriously, if it was a wings fan It would've been GREAT if someone tied a noose to its neck, or a fishing line in its mouth or something.

Every single game this series has left the Sharks with 2 goals. Out of all 4 games in the series, only one has saw the first team to score win the game (game 1) Both Wings' wins were 2-0 come from behind victories with a significant goal happening within the last moments of the game. Almost every goal scored in this series was a result of an uncharacteristically stupid play from the defending team Of all the things I was expecting coming into this series, I don't think I predicted a single one up there. So how are you guys looking at this series? Past or future
-
I wanna know how the hell that thing even got into the arena, let alone onto the ice. It was huge

We were 20 seconds away from a 3 to 1 deficit and we came through in the clutch and tied the series. I have to say, though, Hasek is becoming my favorite candidate for the 2nd round mvp. Best of 3, now. Lets bury it.
