Not only is Homer going to bring a huge presence to the front of the net, hes going to give our team some long needed momentum
-
4 on 4 maybe after the first OT seems intriguing, but never a shootout.
-
The biggest thing arguably is his dominance in front of the net, but alot of people seem to be overlooking the fact that hes another big body up front to combat their big bodies on d. When game 4 comes around, expect Homer to be driving the corners as much as Nabakov's crease.

sounds about right

Lets not get ahead of ourselves

Sit Samuelson, dress Kronwall, and have Schneider play forward
-
I'm so excited for this game. Both teams will come out playing at 100% and we'll finally get to see how we stand up against each other. With that said, Wings 10- San Jose 0

whatever happened to the crease rule

wait... are you welcoming me to the forums? I've been here since before the playoffs began.

If he's an "incredible player" playing consistently mediocre hockey, then he does need to be criticized, because we ALL know hes capable of doing better. As a hockey player myself, nothing irritates me more than when a truly talented player isn't stepping it up for neither himself nor his team.

That is very cool of you what about the feeder?

As bad as splitting the home games usually turns out to be, I'm quite optimistic and excited about the rest of this series. Lets face it, neither team was playing at 100% for the first 90 minutes of this series, but within the last period and a half we seemed to push into our A game (and consequently the Sharks had to pick up their pace), and playoff hockey ensued between possibly the two best teams left in the post season. So what do you guys expect overall for the rest of this series? So its now a 5 game series, and the home team advantage has gone to the opposition. The guns are readied, and the teams are showing their true colors. Let the real battle begin

Its going to be Detroit/San Jose vs Ottawa.
-
I don't think we have had much of a problem battling the trap this year at all. Its getting settled in the offensive zone that's been killing us.
-
I'm fairly confident that whoever comes out of this round can take Anaheim out. They're a solid team, but I'll really be surprised if they win the cup. As for Buffalo, its more difficult to compare because I've seen so little of them this year, but I'm really not intimidated by their lineup at all. They have a good team, but I think San Jose can take them, and if we beat San Jose, then we can obviously beat them as well. Also: I said they were "possibly the two best", not definitely.
-
My guess is we'll win game 3, having a good share of momentum from this game, and they'll take game 4 out of desperation.
-
Well when we proceed to the third round he can blame it on his team and his coaching style sucking balls, rather than Detroit actually earning it.

Holy s*** run-on Also: We win game 3, they win game 4
-
Prior to the second period of this game we've been playing like we're afraid of them. I'm glad we're over that, and we can finally play some real playoff hockey
-
Apparently Mark Bell will be playing in game 2: http://www.nhl.com/nhl/app?articleid=30060...mp;service=page ["We've got to bring a lot more to the table offensively if we want to be successful in this series," said Wilson. He's reinserting Mark Bell into his lineup to try and boost the offence. "He's played a lot in the past against the Red Wings and he's hungry to get back in there," Wilson said.]

so did you buy?
-
Yeah sorry 7 games. I think the year after was actually the sweep, but the other way around. But the point is still valid

Guerin has every right in the world to say what he wants to say. He does have playoff experience, and he has played against the wings plenty of times. In addition to that, its smak-talk and hes trying to get into the wings' heads. God knows he got into every one of your heads. And concerning all of you who are arguing about what team is better, and whose team's dad can beat the other team's dad up, heres something to mull over: The regular season is completely independent of the post season. The past three years the top seeded wings lost to an 8th seed, which eventually ended up going on to the Stanley cup finals. Each team has suffered surprising upsets, as well as caused them. Top players on both teams who have been spectacular for previous seasons have been totally lacking in any sort of production department in the post season. Anyone who doesn't agree that you can't look at regular season stats to determine how a playoff series will come out needs to pay more attention to hockey. Right now the series is tied 0-0, and both teams need 4 wins to make it to the next round, and those precious stats from the regular season aren't going to be there to help them. However there are some facts that we can look at going into this series- San Jose beat Nashville 4-1. Some can argue that Nashville sucks, or they weren't playing their A game, or they didn't have Sullivan and Erat or whoever the hell else was out. None of that changes the outcome. San Jose won, and they're here versing the wings. Consequently, the Wings beat the Flames 4-2, and people can argue just as easily that the Flames are a bad team, they aren't physical, theres no offense, whatever you want to say to make you sleep better at night. The bottom line is the Wings won and they're versing the Sharks. Now, the Sharks are bigger and they are faster and they have been rolling on 4 lines. But the Wings have more playoff experience, veteran-"smartness" (for lack of a better word), good positioning, and they, too, are rolling on 4 lines. Unfortunately, none of that is a guaranteed victory, even when both teams are playing their A games. Case in point: Wings vs Fliers of 97: The Fliers were bigger, taller, faster, all that good stuff and they had a good goalie. The Wings swept them silly. Sharks vs Wings of 94 (that year may be wrong, by the way). The Wings 'dynasty' was almost in full bloom and we were favorited to win the cup for a good chunk of the early 90's years. But the Sharks took the Wings to 7 games and killed us. So don't get all high and mighty looking at statistics before the series even begins. Statistics can't shoot a puck, and statistics can't lay the body, and with 5 seconds to go, empty net, down 2-1, statistics aren't going to be there to win that key faceoff, and rip that rocket from the point.
