I'm rooting for the Canucks
-
may I steal that sig? Srsly?
-
Oh geez, this past weekend a couple budies and myself rented out some ice time, and I haven't skated in a year, and even then it was only 6 IM games, so needless to say I was rusty and out of shape. I was looking like these guys after about 30 minutes!
-
They're going to have to call up the minors so the pros can get some sleep
-
5 bucks says D. Sudin gets the game winner, 6 minutes into 4OT
-
The 12 inning tigers game has had enough time to play, and then replay completely
-
Record is 5 OT i believe, like a minute or so into it...

Dear everyone, this series is going to be more difficult than everyone is being lead to believe. Calgary is a GOOD team, only a couple points from 100 in the regular season. They have tough players that can bring the fury in the playoffs. Please don't jinx us by underestimating them... Sincerely, Echolalia PS- wings will still win
-
You're not alone. I have a 3 hour bio lab at 8. With any luck we'll be out early so I can sleep until the puck drops

FAO: those of you who are going to the game tonight: Make some noise and lead the rest of the crowd into shaking the roof off the Joe, we need to reclaim our Hockeytown title. Besides, thats more incentive for a new arena

Dear Lang Don't screw up.
-
haha "lazy and sucks"

Read all my posts with an eye for humor. The last two reasons were jokes. I've complained on these forums quite a few times about my distaste for the cramped seats, and I figured I would throw it in there with the other reasons.
-
1)The wings have a pretty shaky first round past 2)The economy sucks balls 3)The tigers are now good, so people would rather spend their money on 3 of those tickets instead of one hockey ticket. 4)The pistons are still good 5)Theres no legroom at the Joe 6)Tickets have been outsourced to Mexico

Conspiracy schmonspiracy...the pens never stood a chance against the Sens. oh, and the Senators actually had more penalty calls against them than the Penguins.
-
I doubt it. They're team is way too young and inexperienced, not to mention 80% of their scoring is from one line, which can be shut down easily enough in the post season. The Sens are a solid, deep team with playoff experience whos going to take this series, no problem.
-
Hah! Thats just his excuse for not posting a single shot on net yet The Senators are going to sweep this series, no problem
-
did anyone just have the channel die on them (via sopcast/vlc)?
-
Do I have to download VLC media player separately from Sopcast?
-
sopcast channel???

Apparently CNN is affiliated with Sports Illustrated for their sports news http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/hock...e.ap/index.html but this says Zetterberg will play

Heres the deal with concussions: They're difficult to self diagnose, so its easy to see why Bert kept playing after he took the fall. mild concussion symptoms are generally confusion and amnesia- and if you've ever taken a big check no matter who you are, if you get up, you're getting up confused. And theres no way to know if you have amnesia, simply because you can't be aware of it, especially if its only 5-10 minutes of lost memories. So whats the problem if those are the only symptoms ol' Bert's having? Good question! You see, concussions are injuries to the brain, and usually for about 2 weeks after one gets a concussion, the brain is extra susceptible to serious injury, including permanent mental damage, which as you should all know can easily end a career. So its not so much the fact that Bertie is in too much pain to play, but its more of a precautionary measure to make sure he'll be playing next year. I hope that cleared up any confusion.

Flames' Sea of Red vs Detroit's Red Wave what are the odds
-
And heres what I have so far: WESTERN CONFERENCE Detroit vs Calgary [detroit in 6] (Detroit just has way too much to prove this year, and they have a stronger team with more leadership than in the past) Anaheim vs Minnesota [Anaheim in 5] (Minnesota can't compete against Anaheim if they both bring their A game) Vancouver vs Dallas [Vancouver in 5] (Luongo is going to be the X-factor) Nashville vs San Hose [Nashville in 5] (Although San Hose is good, Nashville has 3 solid lines and will wear San Hose down) Detroit vs Nashville [Detroit in 6] (during the regular season Detroit proved they can bring it to the Predators in a playoff type atmosphere, plus we'll have home ice advantage) Anaheim vs Vancouver [Vancouver in 7] (It'll be close but Luongo will stand on his head again) EASTERN CONFERENCE Buffalo vs Islanders [buffalo in 4] (no competition) New Jersey vs Tampa Bay [New Jersey in 5] (New Jersey is more solid than Tampa Bay, and has spectacular defense Rangers vs Atlanta [Atlanta in 7] (I think luck has alot to do with the Rangers being in the playoffs in the first place) Ottawa vs Pittsburgh [Ottawa in 4] (just because I hate Crosby) Buffalo vs Ottawa [Ottawa in 5] (Ottawa has alot to prove, especially after being eliminated by Buffalo last year. It'll be close, but Ottawa will strike with an unbeatable fury) New Jersey vs Atlanta [Atlanta in 7] (Devils have great D while Atlanta has great offense, and I think it'll be very tight, but Atlanta will wear the Devils down) Ottawa vs Atlanta [Ottawa in 6] (Ottawa will have alot of spark after beating Buffalo and will take that into the next round against the Thrashers) Anyway, I just want your input (suggestions, recommendations, etc) and perhaps if anyone else wants to put up brackets this can be a comparison thread.

Theres actually some merit behind what they say, and although it is smack talk, it really should be taken into account if we're going to be able to take the Flames seriously. It is true that alot of our points came from weak teams such as Chicago, Bluejackets and the Blues. 37 points to be exact that we earned from -500 teams just within our division (which I actually think is the largest amount for any team, although I could be wrong). Even if you cut that number in half (18.5, rounded up 19), if you take those points away from us, we wouldn't even be in a playoff spot. Yes we've beaten the big guns such as Nashville Anaheim Vancouver, etc, but we really need to be prepared for the postseason. There are no -500 teams in the postseason. Hasek also needs to give some credit to the wings' defense for his great stats. Hasek has 1309 shots taken on him, with 22 other goalies with more than him (Kippersoft is at the top of the list with 2190). There aren't even 22 no. 1 goalies going to the playoffs. Calgary knows they need to pressure Dom, and they believe his success lies in his low shots against. Thats added pressure for our defense to take into consideration, especially if we expect to win this one. Hasek has a. 913 save percecntage. There are 11 goalies entering the playoffs with a better save percentage (two from Nashville), including Kippursoft. I'm not saying Hasek is a bad goalie or that Kippersoft is better, but its definitely something we need to keep in mind, and something we need to know that Calgary plans to exploit. And who are we trying to fool by saying Hasek isn't short tempered (not to mention proud)? That could go along way in the series, how many penalties he gets...
