Smith definitely turned the puck over there, but nobody was showing for the guy, either. Andersson needs to be on the boards for an outlet, not right next to our centerman doing god knows what. Smith still needs to eat it or go hard along the boards, though.

THN: 30 NHL teams, 30 I-never-saw-this-coming starts for players

While I agree to an extent, LGW was saying his shooting percentage was unsustainable last year, and this year so far it may be even higher. -
Vintage film: Gordie Howe vs. Rocket Richard c. 1958-1960

Reminded me a bit of a game of drop-in today. It goes to show you how much athletes have changed since then. Still, there were some pretty nifty moves made in that video. -

I'm interested to see what happens to the lines when Franzen returns. The Datsyuk Zetterberg Abdelkader line has been unstoppable. -

With the Wings its never the elite opponents I worry about. Its the Florida Panthers of the NHL that usually do us in. -

That and quick passes, instead of waiting for the opposition to get squared away -

Does that second one count as a bad-pass goal? -
It's funny how whenever a player is about to come off IR and force Holland into some potentially tough roster decisions, another one conveniently gets injured.

I'm not the cap-specialist on LGW, although I know there are a few of them here somewhere.

http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/2014/10/red_wings_stephen_weiss_wont_p.html According to this he is returning to Detroit to get his groin reevaluated, and they will go from there.

The only nicknames I use are the ones that everyone easily recognizes and require fewer letters to type on a phone. Ie Dats, Z, Babs, etc. Nicknames that actually make the name longer to type out are of no use to me.

When Jurco and Nestrasil have a season where they put up more points than Franzen (or even close to what Franzen puts up) come back and we'll talk.

Smith on the PP and what a dirty shot
-
He's been on the PP tonight
-
Haha woowwwwww

Don't look now but Abby has 8 points so far this year, playing on the top line, and not all of them are a result of Datsyuk banking a shot off of him.

Wings great Gordie Howe resting after 'serious stroke'
Echolalia replied to DatsyukianDekes's topic in General
There's only so much medicine can do. In the case of a stroke, the brain tissue that is affected is literally dead already. Even for a younger person with access to the best medical care, teaching the surviving portion of the brain to literally relearn all those lost motor skills is a long and tough process. Add that to the fact that Howe also has been battling dementia for the past few years, and he's already quite old, and the odds aren't looking too great. I wish the guy the best, as well as his family, but unfortunately sometimes the best means a comfortable passing, surrounded by your loved ones. Obviously I hope that isn't the case and he rebounds from this. -
Yeah I didn't get that point on first read through, sorry. The fact that Myers hasn't been moved yet I think is indicative that Buffalo has been overvaluing him in a trade. The problem is with how bad they're crashing right now, Myers' stock certainly isn't rising.
