Artest to Kings for Stojakovic

Alright, I'm not the biggest basketball fan, but when I saw this on the bottom of ESPN 2's info bar, I was very surprised. Was anyone else? Was it a move to get teams moving, or Artest fed up with the Pacers, or what?

IMO, this deal was great for Indiana in the long run. Peja is great.

Thoughts?

Artest has been on the inactive list since he requested a trade a couple months ago. It was expected.

Peja has had a pretty weak season, so the change of scenery should be good for him. As for Artest, he'll probably continue to be a head-case that plays great, when hes playing.

The Pacers lost on this deal, but it was better than keeping him on the inactive list until the offseason. At least they got something for him. They are saying Peja will likely void his contract and become a free agent at the end of the season anyway. Besides that aspect of hte deal, Artest is the much better player. He is much more versatile; plays great offesne, great defense. All Peja can do is score. The Pacers wont be going far this season at the season's end will have traded one of the best players in the NBA for nothing.

'nother big trade in the NBA: T'wolves trade Szczerbiak and 'Kandi Man to Boston for Ricky Davis, Mark Blount, Delonte West.....umm.....well mostly they get a bunch of junk back from Boston. NOT a good trade for Minnesota. Lottery or bust for the next few years must be their goal.
