Hey Schneider, take another shot

Souray is a UFO next year.I'd rather put 3 to 4 million on a younger, bigger defenceman.I know he can be a defensive liability at times, but so is Scheider. He also has one of the hardest shots in the league.

Sourray will get far more than 3 to 4 million. He'll look to sign somewhere for McCabe like money. He'll get $5 million at the very least.

We'd be better off giving Schneids $3.5 and giving the extra $1.5 million to Pavel.

Everybody looks at Souray and wows about his scoring. FYI: Souray is a minus-19 and is on pace to BARELY beat Schneider's tally of goals from last season. Impressive? F*** no.

Hey guys, who's Scheider? Is he that 10th draft pick from 2000? :P

He grew up with Federov and Lindstrom, &c.

Schneider is a defensive liability and seems to be bringing less to the offensive upside to his game.

Lang and Schneids to Montreal for Souray and a second.Would you do it?

Schneider is a defensive liability...so you want Souray?????

That's like trading Lang because he's slow, and getting Jason Allison to replace him!!!

You DO realize Souray wouldn't get nearly the points in Detroit he does in Montreal, right? Souray is the number one PP threat and offensive d-man in Montreal. He wouldn't take that tile from Lidstrom...he'd fit in right where Schneider does and likely would not do as well. Their PG is almost identical, and that's with Schneider as Detroit's number TWO guy. Schneider is better than Souray at both ends of the ice...we'd effectively be saying Lang isn't worth a second rounder, but we'll swap Schneider for Souray to make up the difference?

why not, if hes doing better than schneider already and he gains the best overall defenseman in the league to feed him the puck on the power play, why wouldnt that make someone think he would get more points.

He'd do the exact same thing. Schneider typically doesn't score the goals--he creates the scoring chances. In any case, like I've said-- Souray is HIDEOUS on defense, and is only transiently doing well. Schneider scored 21 last year--Souray might reach that this year. MIGHT. And he's FAR worse on D, and will be more expensive. Honestly, think, think, think.

might get 21? 19 goals through 58 games. that sounds about right, maybe, just maybe he'll get 2 more. hes only got 23 games to do it. anyway, i wasnt sayin we should take him. i was just sayin if we did for some reason get him, he would be better offensively than schneider.
