theman19 47 Report post Posted April 19, 2007 http://sports.yahoo.com/box/news;_ylt=Aqig...o&type=lgns Is this guy on crack? There's a reason the overwhelming majority of UFC fighters have a mixed martial arts background, because any form that is limited to striking is going to be useless in a submission sense. Couple that with the fact most boxers lead with there legs out, just begging for a well to do striker to repeatedly kick the tar out of it and you have a "Sweet science" that wouldn't last more than a round in a mixed martial arts ring. I really hope this moron signes up for a fight, i really hope he fights a guy in his weight class and has his reach, just so he has no excuse, and when one of his jabs is caught and he's taps out crying like a little girl from an arm bar, i hope he's so ashamed he never steps into a fighting ring period again. Lou_Siffer 1 Report post Posted April 19, 2007 HAHAHAHAHA!! Believe me when i say this, if this fight happened right now Sean Sherk would DESTROY Mayweather to a bloody pulp within 20 seconds. The difference between the Muscleshark at 155 and Floyd at 155 is laughable! Anybody who's seen Sherk knows what im sayin'...the dude's seriously jacked. Sherk would shoot immediately, get the mount, rain bombs, Floyd would turn over on his back, the bomb's would continue, and the fight would be stopped. If Floyd trained for an entire year and could develop some semblance of a take down defense, that would be his only hope to last more than a minute.

I like how the Boxing types in the media and the Boxers themselves are trashing the UFC while the UFC stays quiet and continues to gain in popularity. After De La Hoya and Mayweather fight, I don't think Boxing will ever get into the UFC's stratusphere for a while. the UFC will continue to gain and gain. Boxing, not realizing they have a major problem of not enough fights and not enough interest in their "marquee" fighters as it is, will continue to sink until it's a smaller niche sport than the WNBA and the MLS. Lou_Siffer 1 Report post Posted April 22, 2007 Oh...my...god...! Well one thing we know for sure after last night's UFC 70 is that the UFC isnt fixed! What a knockout in the Mirko Cro Cop/ Gabriel Gonzaga fight! Nice false advertising by the Spike channel too, they had the little "Live" logo in the corner of the screen, yet I actually had read the result of the fight on the UFC website about 2 and a half hours earlier that night.
