Yc172 3 Report post Posted May 19, 2007 Did anyone else think that the entire third period was dominated by the Franzen-Zetterberg-Samuelsson line? The ducks just couldn’t stop hank and all three almost made them pay multiple times. ALSO, the combination of Filppula-Datsyuk-Holmstrom really excites me considering they too had multiple chances towards the tail end of the game (really excited for Flip’s future). I liked the way things turned out having two lines that could beat you at any moment rather than just one. Seeing these combos in action again really makes me believe that we have two #1 lines followed by the lang-bertuzzi-cleary (despite the points I didn’t believe they played great). And one last thing... how much time did the draper-maltby-kopecky line get? It seemed like I saw them only a couple of times and the rest was just the other three. I think that Draper and Malts are too big of assets to be sitting them all game (even though they play every pk)
Dabura 12,232 Report post Posted May 19, 2007 I would've been a lot more impressed had they managed to score. Dats and Hank in particular. They've got to get it done on the road, no excuses.

Hes definitely got a real bright future in this league. Datsyuk still scares the hell out of me along with Zetterberg and Franzen could arguably on any given night be your best forward. Not much needs to be said about Holmstrom he brings his lunchbox each day and puts in his 8 hrs.

Hank's started to look good the past couple of games, but particularly the way he was skating last night. He's been next to invisible in the playoffs... yet the guy was charging in with the puck, opening himself up for opportunities, and genuinely starting to look like himself out there. Anyone else notice this? Not much needs to be said about Holmstrom he brings his lunchbox each day and puts in his 8 hrs. There's no question about that, so--QFT, folks. Homer is of a rare kind. Flip has a ways yet, the guy needs to improve his instinct with the puck, but he's caught my eye all year long -- hence the username. He's smart with it and that's what'll (one of the many things, that is) open doors for him in the future. He so could have had that breakaway last night if he'd feinted then deked the other way, I thought. It was too predictable a move, but he'll learn.
