Guest DetroitIan Report post Posted June 30, 2007 Yeah I figured this was about to happen. Was it like a 4 mill per year deal or something like that? If so. He is definitely overpayed.

yzerman&thewings=CUP 0 Report post Posted June 30, 2007 I believe the Blues offered him 2 years worth 7 million, so 3.5 sounds about right. A bit overpriced, but not near as high as what you're going to see tomorrow for people of similar calibre.

Jack T Adams 1 Report post Posted June 30, 2007 The blues may actually have a decent team next year The biggest difference will be a healthy Jay McKee and Erik Johnson on the blueline, and of course having Andy Murray from the start of the season.
Superman54 91 Report post Posted June 30, 2007 The blues may actually have a decent team next year My thoughts exactly. I mean they weren't even that bad last year. With Andy Murray coaching for the whole year and Eric Johnson playing they could be a contender.

A bit overpriced, but not near as high as what you're going to see tomorrow for people of similar calibre. What's happening here? Salaries sky hi (and not that they don't deserve it), but WTF!! The pressure is on the org to giive the big $$ to early signees.
cprice12 117 Report post Posted June 30, 2007 The blues may actually have a decent team next year I think you are a little late with that realization. Assuming the Blues build on how they played after Murray took over last year (which was quite well), yes...they should be decent. But they are still rebuiding. Jack T Adams 1 Report post Posted July 1, 2007 Unfortunately the contract is for $8 million over 2 years and not $7 m. Tkachuk receives $3.5m next season and $4.5m in the second year. http://www.hockeybuzz.com/blog.php?post_id=8319
Guest Crymson Report post Posted July 1, 2007 http://www.hockeybuzz.com/blog.php?post_id=8318 details to follow. Expected. The Blues really needed him back, so I don't think his contract was overpriced in the least. He's worth $4m to them. Sucks for Atlanta. Haha.
Go_Wings_Go_13Dats 0 Report post Posted July 1, 2007 I could see the Blues being a real contender this year, especially if they sign an UFA tomorrow; if they had hired that new coach at the beginning of the season, I bet they would have made the Playoffs THIS year. Superman54 91 Report post Posted July 1, 2007 4 million a season is overly priced. I thought 3.5 was fair though I wouldn't have signed him for more then 3 million.
