SouthernWingsFan 854 Report post Posted October 5, 2007 While I would probably change my opinion if I wore them, seeing the jerseys for the first time last night, I actually liked them a bit. I liked how the C/A was on the right-sided area of the body. Didn't like the numbers on the sides being higher up from the white stripe than normal though. auxlepli 17 Report post Posted October 5, 2007 From a design perspective, the C and A where they are now, just doesn't look pleasing to me. The new design still isnt't that bad IMO. As far as size, I read somewhere Datsyuk said he'd just wear his jersey bigger. Looks like it to me. Also I agree with haroldsnepsts, make the goalies where smaller pads. The technology has to be there.
Yzermania19 1 Report post Posted October 5, 2007 I don't know how true it is or not, but I read somewhere that many players felt the new sweaters were too restrictive and limited their movements too much during training camp so they ordered them one or two sizes larger than they normally would wear. From that picture of Nick and Pavel, it looks like that rumour may have been true. You can tell the new sweaters hold perspiration - I noticed they got darker as the game wore on. Gizmo 21 Report post Posted October 5, 2007 (edited) Ah, interesting. I was going by the info in this article, but what you're saying makes sense too. I found the actual response from Barry Meisel:According to information we received today from the NHL, RBK is working on improving the way teams treat the jerseys (washing, etc.) so that the coating on the fabric of the jerseys does not keep moisture/sweat in. The pressing issue is the chemical treatment of the fabric, and how the jersey allows the moisture/sweat to escape. None of the program teams have received any new jerseys. Since RBK manufactures additional jerseys as teams need them (MeiGray has already placed new orders for a few teams' late-season needs), it is possible that future production will include adjustments/improvements to the treatment of the fabric. Hope this helps, Barry -------------------- bmeisel@meigray.com http://www.nhlgameworn.com http://www.meigray.com MeiGray handles all of the jerseys for: Atlanta, Calgary, Colorado, Dallas, Edmonton, New Jersey, Nashville, New York Islanders, New York Rangers, Ottawa, Philadelphia, Toronto, Vancouver, and Washington. If there is a new jersey worn in any game this season by a player from any one of these teams, Barry's group is required to be notified about it so it can be given a serial number and tracked for authentication and later sale.
