Bill Wirtz memorial/moment of silence booed by Blackhawk fans

of course they have a right to boo.

But that doesn't make them any less a-holes for doing it.

The man's dead and they boo because he was bad at running a hockey team.

Exactly. It's not a matter of if they "could've" it's if they "should've".

Let's just keep in mind here that Bill did a hell of a lot to destroy the Blackhawks in one way or another.

Lot's of people are going to take that personally. I'm just wondering what fan reaction in D-Town would be if something happened to Matt Millen.

Not even close. Imagine 50 years of Matt Millen.

I have lived in Chicago for 2 different periods in my life and have spent significant time in Detroit as well (reside in Florida now). I find some (most) of what you folks say to be pretty humorous and also either biased or uneducated.

To say all Chicagoans ran Bartman out of town or beat up KC Royals coaches is equiviient to me suggesting you all burn your houses down on devils night and are equally responsible for the fact your city is one of the most dangerous anywhere in the US or the planet for that matter and has a violent crime rate that exceeds that of Iraq (us news).

Hockey fans bought a ticket to a hockey game and did what hockey fans do. The Wirtz family was stupid to EVEN try to have any type of memorial before a game. He was hated in Chicago by hockey fans, he did more to singlehandedly remove Chicago from actual cup contention when they had good teams than any owner in any sport I can think of. He got from Chicago hockey fans only what he deserved.
