Mors 201 Report post Posted October 21, 2007 I haven't had the chance to watch any of the Minnesota games yet this season, but from looking at the numbers I'm guessing they're still playing nothing but the trap? 6-0 or not, what an excruciating way to watch a hockey game... Feldmarschall 9 Report post Posted October 21, 2007 Only team in the league still in the single-digits for goals against, so I'd say you're probably right.
RedWingedKitten 9 Report post Posted October 21, 2007 17 goals for, 8 against... Thats gotta be tough to watch, even if they are 6-0-1.
YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted October 21, 2007 Theyre getting it done, so it doesnt matter. Even if they were playing a run and gun game, theyd still get stellar goaltending from Backstrom and Harding. They should be a top contender this year, barring injury, but then again, when you rely so much on a system as opposed to raw talent, teams eventually figure out the formula to beating it, which would explain their lack of success in the post-season. Cheli24 0 Report post Posted October 21, 2007 I am pretty curious myself, as to why they have won 6. So I am tivo-ing the game tonight. I hope they beat the Avs, even if it means them going 7-0-1.
auxlepli 17 Report post Posted October 22, 2007 I was hoping the Wild would keep their single-digit GA tonight.
omnipotent_hudler 0 Report post Posted October 22, 2007 It's funny cause this is the team a lot of people thought would miss the playoffs this year, obviously its early, but they certainly don't look like they'll end up out of the top 8 right now.
Yemack 1 Report post Posted October 22, 2007 watched the game against Avs tonight and I was mighty impressed. They are young and unexperienced but they are for real. I would say they are top 5 team in league right now.
SweWings 45 Report post Posted October 22, 2007 They are definitely getting it done. The question is - are they a team for the playoffs? Detroit has showed over and over that a team that's great during the regular season doesn't necessarily perform very well in the playoffs...
RedLightGoesOn 81 Report post Posted October 23, 2007 Good, but not close... their PP is horrible, sure their PK is great, but lets face it, its the start of the season, what happens now and whos hot now really does not dictate how things will be at the end and how playoffs will go. The Wild have some things going for them now... but keep in mind teams have a tendancy to cool off and other have can heat up. I wouldn't lose sleep over Minnesota right now, yes they are winning, its only 7 games and 1 OTL, but there is plenty of hockey to be played. I say we address this in February again and see where they are... if they keep it up yeah they have a shot at the playoffs, but winning in post season is very different than a regular game.
