WhiteLightning91 105 Report post Posted November 2, 2007 Anyone think this could be comparable to what Zetterberg gets??? I for one would be ecstatic if we got Z for this deal. Don't need to worry about the No-Trade-Clause for obvious reasons Get it done Kenny!!! (Next season, that is)

Don't need to worry about the No-Trade-Clause for obvious reasons Get it done Kenny!!! (Next season, that is) That would be great, but I think $7 will be a best case (hometown discount) scenario. I think his number will probably be in the $7.5 - $8 range.
ben_usmc 253 Report post Posted November 2, 2007 He really shouldn't get much more then Dats, yes he is the finisher on the line, but without Dats he wouldn't be where he is either. They are one in the same, THUS EUROTWINS

FinRedWing 172 Report post Posted November 2, 2007 Anyone think this could be comparable to what Zetterberg gets??? I really think that it should be. Both are expectional players and I know I'll piss someone off by saying that Z shouldn't get paid more than Spezza. But then again,Z should get more than guys like Vanek & Briere! They are one in the same, THUS EUROTWINS Disagree, Zetterberg is the more important player. Without Dats he probably wouldn't be where he is, you are right, but that doesn't mean that Zetterberg isn't the more important player. This is my opinion of course and I am not going to point to this years stats to try to argue it because I really don't think it's fair to look at 10-15 game stretch to try and prove anything, but I'm sure someone else would point to that. Matt 1,049 Report post Posted November 2, 2007 Zetterberg's future deal will be more than Datsyuk's based on inflation alone. I'd expect somewhere in the $7.5m/year range, easily.
YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted November 2, 2007 (edited) I bet Hank takes 7M. Interesting that Spezza is a good deal at 7M, yet Datsyuk was an iffy deal at 6.7. Just goes to show you how much stats mean everything to people. Spezza is good, dont get me wrong. Comparable to Datsyuk in offense, IMO, but his defense doesnt touch Datsyuks and he consistently centers Alfie and Heatley. Anyone could produce with those guys as Wingers. Hell, look what Randy Robitaille did last night playing with those two.. That said, I do think 7M is a good deal....But I also think Datsyuks deal is just as good, if not better. Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted November 2, 2007 I wonder where Redden up's up? Edmonton or Calgary would be my best bets, and since JFJ loves defenceman, I'd say outside chance at TO.
