Schneider on the move?

Burke is the only person crazy enough to pay 4 million for Bertuzzi. I don't think he'll be moveable.

I agree. Nobody is going to shell out $4 mil a year for Mr. backsurgery. He's played in 15 of their 28 games and has 2 goals and 5 assist. That's less than 0.5 pts'game. And he's -1. Thats not much for that kind of money.

Incidently Penner's numbers are 14 points in 29 games - still around .5/game but the difference is Penner hasn't missed a game and then that thing about Penner being at the begining of his career and Bert being past his prime.

Bert for Penner (essentially) - what a stupid move.

Thats a tough situation.

Id get rid of bertuzzi before i got rid of schneider though..

I'd get rid of Bert twice before I got rid of Schneider

Yeah, going over the cap is a fairly major issue.

It has nothing to do with going over the cap this year The ducks have plenty of money for Schnieder and Neidermayer this year, it's the previous commits for next season that would be a problem. I don't think you should have ot deal with next year this season, who's to say they can't make a trade over the summer to free space or that some players won't retire, or be injured, or that the cap won't increase for that matter.

I am sorry, but I am new here. Been reading you all for a while. Anyway, I think if you look at the facts you will realize that Waiving Bryzgalov and trading for Sutherby was all a setup for Niedermayer coming back! If he can unload Sutherby for basically nothing, then Burke will have the numbers where he wants to be! I did a little research and found this to be the case. Getting rid of Sutherby for next to nothing wont be hard. His contract expires at the end of this season. A few teams would take it to clear cap space for he coming FA year. Just my take with some resarch. I believe this whole Nieds thing was a setup to begin with. You just cant announce anything, or you would be in violaton of circumventing the CAP! Schneids is going nowhere and neither is Bertuzzi! If anyone besides Sutherby is, look at O Donnell or a combo of Hnidy/Kondratiev! Guess we will find out within a week!

Hello, I am new here to. I have been reading here since last years playoffs (discovered this site from the ducks photoshop wars LOL). But anyway, I think there is also Sellanne to think about here. With Neids coming back i'd say Sellanne is more likely to come back than ever. Trading Schneids would probably be the only real way to clear up the space they need. Not to mention the money they will need for RFA's in the offseason...

I dont think Selanne is coming back. His wife had a baby Dec 5th (Veera) and he is quoted as saying he would like to be around more for this one. Just a thought. I think he is done. But, perhaps, now that the baby is here, he might! Who knows nowadays with these spoiled athletes. Also, remember Selanne is a free agent, he could play for league minimum if he wanted for a half year! He can do whatever he wants.

McKenzie just cleared this up on 'Thats Hockey' about 15 mins ago. All the Ducks have to do is clear $880,000 worth of Cap space. Schneider and Bertuzzi don't have to go anywhere for Neidermeyer to play.

My guess is it will be Sean O'Donnell

My guess would be Todd Marchant. He's making over $2M and is basically useless as the Ducks only play 3 lines.

He'll be waived and, if there aren't any takers, placed on the farm.

Haha. Good question.

In reference to that...

The Anaheim Ducks are not as caught between a rock and hard place as we thought.

Contrary to what was reported here yesterday, and many other places, the Anaheim Ducks do not have to free up $3 million in salary commitments next season to get Scott Niedermayer into their lineup this season.

The number is actually less than $1 million, about $880,000 to be exact.

Breathing Room

Sounds like no big moves from the Ducks after all. Damn.
