Opie 308 Report post Posted December 11, 2007 I didn't get to watch the Detroit game, live in New England, so I am watching the tail end of the B's game. Let me tell you something Auld looks damn good. He may not last like this for a long time but he has put up two really good showings in net for the B's. I didn't expect this kind of play from him. And why would the sabres fans boo Chara all night?

And why would the sabres fans boo Chara all night? Good for Auld, just hopefully he can keep it up - Boston seems to be the final resting place for goalie's careers over the last decade and a half... As for the Chara, I gotta imagine it just had to do with his time in Ottawa and the bad blood between them
eva unit zero 271 Report post Posted December 11, 2007 I always thought Auld was a god goalie; he should have been the starter over Cloutier in Vancouver, but Crawford would have none of it; he loved his Danny.
Opie 308 Report post Posted December 11, 2007 I always thought Auld was a god goalie; he should have been the starter over Cloutier in Vancouver, but Crawford would have none of it; he loved his Danny. And that worked out so well for the both of them didn't it. I got to watch Danny in a recent Monarchs game. Funny thing is my friend and his family are Monarch fans because they are a local hockey team and they like it, they don't really follow any pro sports. The first thing my friend says to me as we are walking in and he sees Clouts starting Oh great, this guy can't stop a beach ball I almost peed right there, all I could think of was the avatar with clouts diving and the beach ball going past into the net. Sorry I can't remember who's avatar it is though!!

Yemack 1 Report post Posted December 11, 2007 I think it's a common sight that new goalie coming into town goes hot for few games. Anyway Glad to see him get a chance and running with it.
Cicada 4 Report post Posted December 11, 2007 (edited) problem is when Fernandez and Thomas come back he'll be going down to Providence faster than you can skin a cat Edited December 11, 2007 by Cicada
Opie 308 Report post Posted December 11, 2007 I have a feeling Tim Thomas's injury is a lot worse than they are letting on. Tuukka Rask was playing well enough, probably not well enough to get them the last two wins though, to get Thomas a couple of days off, maybe a week But one of the sports shows around here said the B's are being real tight lipped with Thomas. I will tell you right now, he is this teams Manny Legace when everyone was screaming for him to be the starter. In short burst, 20-30 games, he is unreal. But he appears to tire real quickly and real dramatically. Some of that maybe the way the B's are using him, but he is a house of fire for a month or so and then he tends to suck for a week or two. But Tuukka Rask is going to be the real deal, Toronto lost out on that deal.
