GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted December 22, 2007 Yeah, Markov is the only one I'd like to maybe have back. I sure wouldn't mind subtracting Sammy too.....he just doesn't fit in and his style of play (shooting from anywhere on the ice as soon as he touches the puck) just doesn't work well with the current team IMO. If we git rid of Samuelsson, we'll no longer lead the league in shots every year, or wear out the crest of the other goalie's jersey.

T.Low 1,011 Report post Posted December 22, 2007 Care to elaborate on how losing Markov's physical presence and unmatched passion for the game was "dead weight." Maybe he's referring to plays like this yeah; dead weight.
Guest Crymson Report post Posted December 24, 2007 Schneider is definitely being missed...especailly on the PP. I had thought that part of the reason that the Wings didn't resign Schneider was because they diidn't think they could afford both him and Markov...... Instead, they signed Rafalski for more than Schneider accepted from the Ducks and didn't sign Markov at all. I have no idea what they were thinking there. Rafalski's a good player but he can't take the place of both Markov and Schneider. Schneider is also 38, and the Wings meanwhile have Rafalski locked up long-term---plus a quality right-handed shot from the point, which is very, very uncommon in this league. I can't think of any others in the league besides Kubina.
