puckloo39 5,686 Report post Posted December 23, 2007 There can only be one true master of the Paralyzed Snow Angel of Death at any one time! so true. The Wild are picking it up here, taking away chances near the net. Wings better capitalize while they can. So far the Wings have just dominated in the first, smothering the Wild

FinRedWing 172 Report post Posted December 23, 2007 (edited) Well, we're majorly outshooting them, which is no surprise. For those of you in the GDT thread for the last game...my Ovechkin jersey is scheduled to arrive on 12/17. Wine talking translation: on the 27th? I hope no NHL player will ever step on a segway again, otherwise you'd be broke Edi. edicius 3,269 Report post Posted December 23, 2007 Is that wine talking for on the 27th? I hope no NHL player will ever step on a segway again, otherwise you'd be broke Edi. Yes. Yes, it is. Stupid chardonnay. And what can I say? The Segway thing was the clincher. Aside from the goal, this has seemed like a very uneventful period. I know games against the Wild are normally a bit, eh, on the boring side...but this game just seems to be so un-notable, if that's an acceptable word. In any case, I'm happy that we're coming out of the first with a 1-0 lead. Outshooting them 16-6, yowza.
puckloo39 5,686 Report post Posted December 23, 2007 Dom, BIG save right off the face-off, with seconds left in the first perry-odd. Remember that one later on!
edicius 3,269 Report post Posted December 23, 2007 Oh, and according to NHL.com, for what it's worth, the goal was given to Dats, with helpers from Flip and Cleary.

Half of Backstrom's saves are stopping the puck when it's winged clear down the ice, or stepping out to grab a puck that would have missed anyway.

And here I thought it would be page 4 when you started slipping up Yeah, the 1st was a bit uneventful with the exception of the Wings goal. Hopefully we'll get it going further and score, oh, ten or twenty goals and win it without going to OT/SO. Hope the lack of Zorro and Homer won't hurt us. We always look like we're totally outshooting the opposition, but judging by the quality of shots, it's not usually so.

I hope they get busy during the second and build a nice lead. The Wings have done a great job so far neutralizing Gaborik. Zero shots on goal thus far. Shades of the Wings shutting down Forsberg, eh? One thing we really have to stop is the odd-man rushes. Haven't really been, uh, aware enough to notice them thus far this game, but we always seem to get burned by those. Shadow Gaborik and make sure he doesn't get another opportunity to trip over Dom. Holy crap, these guys on the Minnesota feed are effing WEIRD. Entertaining, though! didn't even make to page 4. *tsk-tsk* Dats is going to be the difference maker tonight, I think. I hope they get busy during the second and build a nice lead. With Homer and Zata out tonight, this is the perfect opportunity to prove that we're not a one-line team and that we DO have some secondary scoring.

They've been all over Gaborik, and need to continue that. Cheli was missed last night, he makes an impact every time he's out there. Not sure who the announcers are in St. Paul/ New Hockeytown, but yes, they are ... odd.

Holy crap, these guys on the Minnesota feed are effing WEIRD. Entertaining, though! Personally, I wouldn't mind see Gaborik taking flight training again But yeah, keep an eye on him and try not to give them any odd man rushes that have burned us in the past. Kronnic got a penalty out of the way, so now he can pick his game up I didn't notice Hartigan was in for Clutch , so I can't really say a thing about his game (someone will, though). Dom made a nice save off the faceoff at the end of the perry-odd and gave us a 1-0 lead going into the 2nd 2nd on now.

puckloo39 5,686 Report post Posted December 23, 2007 Shadow Gaborik and make sure he doesn't get another opportunity to trip over Dom. Someone needs to make sure the Wings don't leave their goalie laying around on the ice again. The St. Paul color commentator just said we're heading into the third period. Don't believe her. WIld are coming out firing. Dom stopped 'em.
